A Blown Tranny forum....
A Blown Tranny forum....
We are reading of blown trannies like falling leaves in November!
Can we have a forum for the Blown Tranny hall of fame.
I have 26600 miles and my no major problem with the tranny. I feel very bad for those CL-S affected. It could an Acura PR nightmare. But, at least a TSB or general Public announcement to explain what is happening and how to resolve it.

I support this and you have my vote. The question is... Is soopa willing?
IMO -- it would be helpful to have the info in one place. It could reduce the number of surveys. Even a sticky post, with suggested info to post, upon failure or improper operation, could help identify patterns and signs to watch for..
Like:
-- Had slip (flare) in 1st and 2nd and 3rd would get stuck. Tranny failed 2-weeks later...
-- Had noise in 2nd or 3rd, then all lights lit up like a X-mas tree.
-- Transmission fluid looked and smelled like something died.
-- Dueling clutch packs helped by flush, but 1st hesitates.
-- Death without warning
-- Etc
-- Etc
-- Etc
I would love to have people dip a couple of drops of their current fluid on a blotter or piece of paper to see if the fluid wicking out from the "drop" was uniform in color or had a gradient (with specs)...
Symptoms, like bad gas mileage, and any other "early" warning signs could be very helpful!

I’m planning on checking the fluid often *and* I'm considering your option. It would be nice to see what the metal breakdown in the fluid is (especially over time)...
Guesses:
1. Nickel and steel (bearing materials)...
2. Next, carbon and "to be determined materials from clutch packs" from clutch pack duels.
3. Surprise "guests"
4. Etc...
BTW:
Anyone know of a high-powered Samarium Cobalt magnet drain plug for our tranny?
