this started yesterday and continued today. when i put on my left or right blinker, i would say 1 out of 10 times, it starts to work properly, then stops-the blinkers go off, but the signal stalk stays in the position that i put it in for the turn. after completing the turn, it pops back, like it should.

all the signal lights work, no CEL's(i know the blinkers have nothing to do with the engine, just thought i would mention that, cars running fine), and my blinker fluid is topped off!!

nothing was modified recently, only a new battery 2 weeks ago
i really don't want to be pulled over by some hard on and get a stupid ticket. i also don't want to cause an accident

any ideas guys? i tried a quick search, and nothing

 

try new bulbs? Make sure the contacts are clean?

You could always measure the voltage with the signal on to see if its putting out the voltage. If its not, here could be a wire cut somewhere or something.
