Blasted engine light
Blasted engine light
Has anyone had a re-occuring problem with 01' CL engine light and TCS light coming on? I am going to take back to the dealer for the 4th time tomorrow as the light keeps coming on and is driving me nuts!
Your EGR (Exhaust-Gas-Recirculation) valve could be clogged.
The Engine light flashing indicator was indicative of this problem from the tech bulletins I've read about.
Have your dealership check that through an error code reader.
Basically what it does is recirculates the engines emission gasses
to neutralize the harmful Nitrous Oxide gasses from being produced
"During EGR operation, exhaust gas is fed into the intake stream near the throttle body during part throttle operation to dilute the intake charge. This is done to cool combustion and reduce NOX emissions. The amount of exhaust gas bled into the intake stream is minimal and does not appreciably heat the intake charge."
The clogging of the EGR valve could possibly be causing an idle surge problem too perhaps.
