BIG PROBLEM locked out, no spare

Hey guys, my keys are in my trunk and the doors are locked (was getting something out and the keys fell in).

What can I do? I'm going ot head to the dealership in the morning but what can they do if I dont have a key? How soon can they make me a new one?

Thanks in advance for any help.

But locksmiths are expensive, whereas if I jsut get a new key made I'll have a spare. Can the dealership make spares quickly w/out the keyor should I be calling locksmiths tonight?

Thanks

your going to be paying a lot more for someone to make a key from the ignition than it will for a locksmith to get into your car

do you have AAA? Call up a tow company with ur situation. All you need is wedge to squeeze into the window frame near the B Pillar, once that is wedged open enough you can stick a hangar in there to push ur door lock button. not hard at all.

Can the dealership just make me a key as if I was ordering a second one? They've got my car information on record dont they? That way they wouldnt be making a new key from the ignition.

About the wedge, what is the B pillar and could you please give some more directions? I'll go try it tonight.

They wont have your key cut in their computer if thats what you are asking, they would have to make it from the ignition, like I said the locksmith will be cheapest.

i locked my keys in my trunk

i used what looked like one of those door stops, go to ur passenger side and wedge inbetween the window and the top left towards the back of the car, the windows on 2nd gen wedge very easily, u may need a soft mallet to squish it in, just find the spot and push, it didnt do any damage to my car, you should be able to pull the window out enough to stick something in to push the door lock button.

If it were me I wouldn’t risk damaging the car with pieces of wood and broken hangers.
Head to a Honda/Acura dealer in the morning with your VIN number and proof of ownership and they can make a new key for you on the spot.

The 4 dealers in my area would not do this.
My friend did the wedge thing on his CL & it was open in a few minutes. Really easy.
No damage, the door is not very tight at all.

Call a tow service. They have a lock out kit and specific instructions to unlock your car. I know 'cause I have one of my own.
Shouldn't cost more that $50 for the service.

IMO, call the dealership or a locksmith. And when you get the key out of the trunk, get a copy made. A simple duplicate will not start the car, but at least you will have a ket to get the doors opened if you do it again.

the least expensive route would be to just get a locksmith. or jimmy it yourself if you're that conscientious of your expenses.

Well, as an update, the reason I didnt call the dealership myself was that my car was locked at the gym and I needed my car for school the next day....

I followed the wedge method and it worked great. I used a screw driver wrapped in foam paper so I wouldnt get any damage on the rim. None at all and no trouble.

Hopefully this wont happen again, but either way i'll be getting a key soon enough.

Thanks again guys.

no fuckin way, the key itself is like $40-60 uncut from the dealer...then you have to get it cut and programmed.
