best extended warranty choice
I have read alot about people on this board buying the extended acura care warranty, and I have heard at least decent things about it. But has anyone bought an extended warranty from another company like warrantydirect.com or aaaautowarranty.com
I got a quote from one site like those listed above, and they said that with their warranty, the coverage begins from the time of purchase for the mileage. let me try to better explain:
acura car extended warranty:
say my car is at 45k... i get 60k extended warranty...
that means my car is covered for another 15k...
correct?
now another company i spoke with that i cant remember:
my car is at 45k.. i get 60k extended warranty...
my car is covered till 105k....
now thats a much better deal, and if i remember correctly it was about the same price... anyone heard of anything like this???

It doesn’t matter how long a warranty is if you have problems getting coverage when you need it.
I wouldn’t buy ANYTHING but an official AcuraCare plan.
I wouldn’t buy ANYTHING but an official AcuraCare plan.

really? even if the work would be done at an acura dealership?
i mean, these plans seem to be pretty legit, and the seem to cover the same parts as the acuracare warranty... some actually covering even more...

Companies going bankrupt and leaving you with a worthless piece of paper or refusing to pay over even the smallest of claims.
Some dealerships won’t do business with certain aftermarket companies because of problems in the past.
That forces YOU to pay the bill and then fight to get reimbursed.
Or they argue with the shop over time and money spent for a repair.
Others offer a credit card type of payment to the dealership.
Then if the repair is disputed, YOU are stuck with the balance and a 22% debt.
Like I said…stay away.
I don’t expect Honda/Acura to be going bankrupt anytime soon.
And I can use it at any dealership without question.

Your probably not gonna find a better deal than Curry. Thats who I got mine though. And I can tell you from personal experince that you should never go with anything other than a factory warrenty. My parents bought a chevy with an aftermarket warrenty and everytime something is wrong the warrenty company refuses to pay and we have to fight with them. Also don't forget that the Acura Care warrenty extends your TLC which could save you quite a bit of money someday.

But don’t forget, the older the car gets the higher the price gets for the same coverage.
Every year and 12,000 miles that goes by, the price goes up.
That’s why I bought mine before the price went up at 12,000 miles.
I paid 850 for a zero deductible 7-YR / 75,000 mile AcuraCare plan.
I’m covered until March of 2009.

The price does go up every 12,000 miles or 12 months, but that doesnt start until the car is 24,000 miles or 2 years old. I bought my warrenty when my car was 23 months old and had 19,000 miles and I also paid 850 for the 7/75K warrenty. The price calculations are actually listed on curry's website, or you can get the warrenty pamphlet at your local dealer

It looks like Curry Acura just changed their extended warranty plan.
I've been thinking about getting the no deductible warranty they offered, but now they only offer $100 deductable at a higher cost.
i could kick myself for waiting.
Any one have another source form a factory backed Acura warranty?

I just picked up a 6/120K Honda Care plan for my new 2005 CRV from Bernardi Honda for $871. This price was the best I could find on the net and the Edmunds forum backed it up.
I'm not sure how much a CL plan from them would run, but it's worth checking out. The other dealers I looked at for the warranties were Curry Honda, College Hills Honda, Mohawk Honda, Jay Honda, Acura World. Many of them sell Acura Care warranties too.
