ok guys the first time i brought my car to acura was for a check engine light n they told me it was a mis fires on all cylinders, now i rarly beat on the car but all said an done the problem was fixed. last night it came on again and the car was idling rough and kept jumping form 1000 rpms to 500 on occasion, so i brought it in today an they said they can hear the valves tapping and the exhaust mis fireing, this is the seond time for the same problem , Question Warranty or not. thanx

 

OUCH!!! You didn't manually drop it from 5>2 going 80 mph or anything did you????? Yeah, it should be covered unless the CPU recorded you doing something dumb.

 

I hope so. Timing belt snapped on a Nissan I had. Cost me $1500 for bent valves

 

How are valves tapping indicative of bent valves???

What was the code they pulled from the check engine light the first time? 'misfiring' could just be as simple as the timing being off...

 

Which is why I wished our engine was non-interference...

 

i had this same problema while back the first time it was knocking and they said all the valves were loose the second time it was making a vibrating noise when v-tec kicked in and check engine light would come on then go off sometimes when i took it back in i had broken the intake valve on cylinder one but it was all covered under warranty.....
