Beginning to research tranny after 100K...

VR tranny as well as www.levelten.corn (bullet proof tranny)..

Am very interested in getting a tranny that I can depend on after 100K. Of course, I would run the OEM tranny after 100K and when that goes at 100.1K, I could do the upgrade.

Anyone do an upgrade yet? Any comments/knowledge on the above VR or Bulletproof tranny..

Orignally, I thought I wanted to get rid of the Acura before 100K but I really like the car and would have no complaints if I can get 200K out of the car.

its a interesting site, the Q i'd ask if there tranny is "bulletproof" how come Most honda/acura trannys have had some sort of a problem, and more importantly why was the problem never fixed. Especially with the recalls in the last few weeks.

Do they offer any kind of a Warranty if they install one of there trannies and how much ?

I believe you get 12,000 mile warranty with VRs unit. As for level 10 I'm not sure. Since the original trannys are faulty even the rebuilts are at adeficit - just trying to improve a faulty design.
I'm hoping to get some track times and #s with the tranny + 9lbs. of boost. I'll keep you guys posted.

I called the Guy, take 2-3 days for the ordering and they do the install

The Tranny for Stage 2 is 3464 and the Torque converter is 598.

He said the car will perform like never before, and have a 6month unlimited warranty, but said never had any issues with their work

HE SAID " This is the Same Setup that Comptech Has in their Car"

You knon what, after 100K, if the tranny goes South, it is certainly worth a try for $4K. I would do that over heading to Acura for another OEM...

Hope somebody tries the upgraded tranny and report back..

Considering an OEM tranny out of warranty is like $5k.

Yes, mine is already installed. The greatest benefit(aside from the better shifts,etc..) has been the LSD my previous tranny just kept spinning the passenger side. The next update will be the 9lbs of boost and tranny.

Are the ratios affected ? Better 4th gear ?

Thanks for the updates, many of us are interested and you can be very helpful in keeping us posted.

Now I'm excited....

SCTL-SS I will keep you in mind and try to get another update in a couple month on the tranny....

Like I said, I would like to see 200K with this car as I can't imagine what else out there is that much better. If I trade, I get a newer car but I will easily be $20K poorer. $4-5K on a good tranny will be a good way to go.

STAY AWAY FROM LEVEL 10, THEY ARE CROOKS

just do a search for them on supra forums or even v6p.net

DO NOT WORK W/ LEVEL 10. They have even been accused of using stock parts in upgraded trannies.

I don't think he went w/ Level 10, sounds like he went w/ someone else.

And they may do it right, i've just heard NOTHING but bad things about them over the years.

We're meeting in Portland, Oregon this year and it was mainly so we could get more of our Canadian brothers involved

Check out the sticky thread in Club Meets and start getting the Vancouverites involved See ya in Portland.

Mine is not from level 10, it is from Velocity Resources. The gear ratios are not affected on the upgrade, but that might be an option some time in the future. I'm supposed to bring the car in today for them to do the fuel tuning and if all is well it is going to the track tonight.
