battery problems and suggestions

Ok
so i have about 41k miles on my 03 CL and its already died out on my twice. I called up acura to see if it would be replaced under warranty but they said it is replaced if its within 2 years and anything after it will be prorated and it would come out to about $100 for the factory battery. So i'm thinking i should just go for another brand. What are some good brands that are reliable and will last a long time?

I did a search and found mixed results or the optima yellows and a few people seem to like the Die Hard Gold.

mine dies twice as well. first time was replaced under warranty because the car was just under 2 years old. the 2nd time happened a year later but they would not cover it because the free replacement was only for the 1st 2 years of owning the car, not the battery.

i ended up going with a sears die hard gold, but the battery cover doesn't quite fit exactly because the terminals are moved over a little. It will still fit, but not very well.

how long did you have the die hard gold for? Has it been reliable?

My battery died also, and Acura wants me to pay $71 for a new battery (prorated 24-35 months). I hate the idea to pay that much for a a battery that Costco sells for $40 with 36/100 months warranty replacement/prorated credit.

But I am not sure if the battery terminals are swapped. Anyone has any additional feeback?

I had a similar problem with my battery and the service advisor @ my dealership told me straight out that the manufacturer batteries aren't that good and this is a commmon problem. I went to Costco in my area and they didn't have one that fit a 2001 Cl-S so I ended up buying it at Auto Zone.

Just picked up one from Costco @ $40; 700 AMPs @ 32F and 550 CCA.

36 month free replacement / 100 month warranty.

I will install it tomorrow; I just checked that fits perfectly.
