basic newbie ebrake question

if i park on a steep hill (my driveway) put the car in neutral and put the eBrake on, should my ebrake be strong enough to stop the car? My car just rolls all the way down the hill.

If adjusted correctly, it should hold even on steep hills.

The ebrake should be strong enough to hold the car, but the cable stretches and it gets less effective over time. Set the ebrake, put it in neutral, release the brake pedal and let the car roll back till the ebrake stops it. Then put it in park. That will keep pressure off the tranny's parking gear. If when you go to leave, its a little hard to get the car out of park, its because its rolled a little until the tranny stopped it. Get the ebrake tightened then.

Best thing go to the dealer and have them adjust the dam E brake, other than that you will have the whole weight of the car resting on the gear of your choice. Not a goood thing to do on manual transmission because with time it will damage the gear.

yeah, just get them to adjust it. I had mine done. It should only click from 7-11 times before completely stopping the car. It should be under warranty.
