barbed-wire/mesh grille

HUH? Am I the first nut to attempt this? What I've done so far is meshed the grill. it now has only the outer chrome trim on it with the emblem "floating" in the middle. It looks bad-ass now.Tomorrow I'm going to incorporate some barbed-wire into it, not sure how yet, but I will figure out a way. Any suggestions? Pics tomorrow.....

Sounds cool...I like the idea, just make sure you get it chromed or something to keep it from rusting

Welcome to 2000. The mesh grill is everywhere on these boards, you are by no means the first.

As for the barbed wire, sounds but if you can pull it off, maybe.

Still sounds

I could definitely see how this could be ghetto, but im interested to see how it comes out. If you put enough time and thought into this, it could come out pretty cool. I am thinking some welding should be involved. If you are just talking about wrapping some barbed wire around your grill then it probably will look terrible.

OMG a MESH GRILLE!!!! Dude that is gotta look so f*cking hot! You should definitely get it patented before your post pics. NO one has a mesh grille! The car has only been out for 5 years now and yet no one has come up with a mesh grille idea.

Oh and barbwire?

Steve, what paint did you use for grille?
I have done something very similar to yours (in black) but the paint on the grille chips like a bitch....what did you use to keep it from chipping?

Thanks in advance.

Mine chips too. I'm going to repaint it once it warms up a little.

3 coats of primer. 3 coats of black.

Is that a stock 01' grille that was once chrome?

Thanks for the info.

Put some barbed wire in the lower grill; it'll scare the hell out of little animals.

I agree, I like the lower mesh. Did you put mesh behind your upper grille? Interesting.

Barbed wire eh ?

Why not throw in some of the looped barbed wire, and get a personalized license plate that reads: NMATE
