Ballast Swap DIY - Headlight problem FINALLY fixed.
Alright, now I know there's been some threads about this topic before, but I figured I'd share my experiences and put a little DIY in it for everyone too.
So my headlights have been having some problems lately, I had one ballast go, then I had another ballast go, then one came back on, etc. etc. So I finally broke down and got a complete HID kit. The HID kit is from HIDxtra, and I got the acurazine discount. Very fast shipping, great easy guys to deal with, I'm behind that company 100%. So far their product has been great.
So first I took off the front bumper, which is pretty self explanatory. And the lights, again self explanatory.
I got to the lights, took the original ballast out, and it leaves a hole where the wires used to go through. I didn't want to leave the OEM ballasts down there and since they dont' make a water proof seal I wanted them out. So I cut out a piece of lexan and glued it over the hole w/ epoxy then went over it with silicon to ensure a great seal.
I then attached the ballast to this "platform" i made where the oem ballast used to be
After attaching the ballasts you need to run the wire through the back of the housing somewhere. I suggest near the turn signals as there is actually a lot of space to work with in there.
After running the wires you need to silicon up the hole that you made. (try and make sure the hole is as small as necessary.) And then I used to OEM connector for the aftermarket ballasts just to ensure plug and play
Also remember to test your lights before reassembling!
Also check or replace your fuses.
Finally....and off topic, I upgraded my puddle lights:
I'll get some pics of the light output later, but they're 10,000k HIDs and put out some GREAT light!

Whats up with RDX owners?

What I would have done would be to get a PVC pipe end cap approximately the same size as the hole and JB Weld it on, then put silicone over the JB Weld just to ensure a seal.
But still, good job.
