ballast issues still present

Ok so heres the deal..my driver side light would come on and then go off without warning. So i purchased brand new morimoto ballasts and bulbs from the retro fit source. Everything worked great for about 48hrs... now i have the same issue present again.

what are yall thoughts?

-no i did not touch the buld and yes i wiped the bulbs with the provided alcohol swabs.

Did you check your fuses in the under hood fuse box?

Racja - I swapped bulbs left to right when I had my oem bulbs and ballast, and both bulbs worked only in the passenger side. Now wit new ballast n bulbs ill try it again. How can I test my ignitor??

Allout - would it be a fuse if it flickers?? Or if its only one headlight actin up. Ill check anyways

Just checked both lighting relays and both headlight fuses...those were good. Have to check bulbs themselves now. Its Just hard to believe that after replacing with new ballast the same exact side would blow out again...

I had a bad ballast and it flickered even after I changed it. Mine must have popped a fuse when it went because the ballast was definitely bad. I replaced the fuse on mine and the flickering went away.

Doesn't sound like the same issue as yours though if your fuses were all good. Hope you find the problem.

Thanks all, problem solved. It was a bad pin in the ignitor connecting the light bulb.

OP- can you explain your fix in more detail please???
I think I'm experiencing the same problem. Drivers side headlight did the flickering early this year. It finally went out in the spring and I checked everything fuses, relays, swapped bulbs, swapped ballasts-no dice. Finally replaced with a DDM tuning kit in early August. The kit was very high quality btw.

I haven't been driving my car much at night so I think I only put a few nights of use on the new setup before I had problems . 2 weeks ago I turned on the lights and sure enough the drivers light was out, flicked the switch and it came back on. I though not this again.
Since then the headlight has been hit or miss, sometimes it comes on other times I have to turn it on and off. Then Friday night both headlights came on first time. However by the time I pulled out of my driveway the drivers side was off. It came back on but this is only going to last for so long again. I only installed one of the DDM ballasts so I have a spare just in case. I just can't believe this is the ballast again.??
Advice?

^ Uhhh no. Thanks though.

I can get 3 ddm kits for the price of one oem ballast (from the stealership).
Plus they are known to fail. Hence why I'm in this situation to begin with.

So still dealing with the ballast issue... New info is:
The lights go off after the first minute of driving just about every night.
One flick of the headlight switch turns them back on for good.
Over big bumps I notice the headlight in question flickering.
Going to try the other ballast and ignitor to try and pinpoint the problem..

Any advice on troubleshooting, possible cause of the gremlin in my headlight?
Thanks..

Figured it out. Thanks for all the help guys lol

Switched out the ignitor from my DDM kit with the other one I had not installed yet. It's been more than a week since the switch and I haven't had any more problems.

So basically I had a similar problem as the op. So remember to check your ignitor wire harness from the ballast to the bulb as it may be the problem and not the ballast.

Same problems here. Got a DDM kit and the passenger side won't fire (just flickers) and the bright won't work at all. The driver's side works. I swapped al the parts between sides and all the parts checked out. I just had some major work done on the car at the dealer so I'm thinking that the harness for the pass side is not quite plugged to the bottom of the fuse box. How do I check the bottom of that fuse box? Thank you!
