I just bought a updated DVD for my navi and was wondering if anyone tried to burn a backup copy for themselves. I dont trust having one copy of anything.

 

My PC burns dual layer DVDs, but I've never tried it. send me your DVD and I'll give it a try for a CLS?

Have to use dual layers DVD, too much data for single layer DVDrs.

The Navi units are really picky about what brand of media you use as well.

Verbatim tends to be pretty high quality. I made a backup copy and got it to work about 80% of the time (other times it gave read error when car was started) I used Verbatim DL DVD+R.

 

I am using a 'backup' Navigation DVD in mine also.

 

Me too. Choose the right media. RiTek (RiData) or Verbatim works well.

 

can anyone hook me up with a "backup" copy?
