Isn't that just a pain in the rear? With all the environmental additives I'm not sure what kind of stuff is running through our cars. I we have to pay more for that junk too thanks to the tax on top of the tax. Funny is that after all the discussion about the air, the additive (MTBE?) was poisoning our water.

Gotta love politicians.</STRONG>
Not to mention all the melted fuel lines when it was first introduced.

Our compression is a healthy 10.5. We need higher octane gas to ward off detonation! I hope the modification is a fuel/remap of PCM,but apparantly as stated syn used 93octane! Calif. gas sucks! Comptech is going to have to address this detonation problem with poor fuel or a Supercharger simply isn't going to work without causing major detonation problems. If our PCM has to retard timing so severely alot of power will be lost. Someone needs to be able to reprogram our PCM!

Hint, read my posts on the impact of a VAFC on the 3.5L pages.

Syncivic, will there be a significant gain/loss of power from your mod due to the shitty 91 octane we get here in California?

"The 3.5L conversion uses a VAFC to manipulate the fuel curve to meet the demands of the new motors appetite." (syncivic)

Just for all you lazy bums who didn't want to search :P

I doubt it, the gain in power will likely be relative (in %) to what he baselines I have shown.
