I was wondering if anything like this exists on our car??? I want to be able to hook my iPod directly into the stereo.

It doesn't exist from the factory, BUT, you can get the blitzsafe adaptor from Streeteffectz. It plugs into the back of our ('01-'03) CLs and acts as an auxillary input. Once it's plug into the back of the radio you can press the CD button to toggle between the indash changer and the auxillary input (2 RCA's).

get the Blitzsafe adapter. you dont need to get it from SE... you can buy it anywhere. Best Buy even has them.. just prolly not stocked for CL.

Use the web.

RockDog/Astroboy use some lil $10 FM modulators for their ipods and they actually do work fairly well.

Though the cleanest audio would certainly be from the Blitzsafe.

I'm assuming I'd have to get to the back of the deck to plug this adapter in? How difficult is it to get back there?

From what I think
ACURA/AUX DMXV.1 <== for audio input.
ACURA/ALP DMXV.1D <== audio input + CD changer control.

SCRIB LISTEN TO NO ONE ELSE HERE!!! THE BLITZSAFE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!!!! IT WILL GIVE THE BEST QUALITY OUT OF ANYTHING!

It is not difficult at all to get to the back of the headunit. You DO NOT have to take the headunit completly out. You can just take one of the side panels off (5 or 6 screws) to reach around and plug it in. Do a search for instructions.

And contact streeteffectz for the model number. I think he is the cheapest way to order it anyway.

Welp... I got a tip from a buddy of mine, who said this is the way to go...

http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/itrip/

iTrip
FM Transmitter for iPod
[ Now Shipping ]

You are looking at the coolest iPod accessory in the world. The iTrip FM transmitter for the iPod can play your music through any FM radio in your car, at a party, wherever the mood strikes you - and you have a radio.

It's clear that the iTrip is made specifically for the iPod. This gives iTrip advantages over similar devices. For example, with the iTrip, you can have the cleanest possible signal - because you can choose any radio station on the dial to tune for the best performance possible. You do this by 'playing' special station codes directly from the iPod itself. Simple.

Another advantage of the iTrip is that it needs no batteries, it receives its tiny amount of power from the iPod, and it can rotate out of the way to charge the iPod while still in use. No more batteries ever again.

There’s not even a power switch – just plug it in and go. It shuts off if automatically after 30 seconds of silence - just like the iPod. The iTrip is the ultimate accessory for the iPod because it allows you to share the music and share the fun beyond your headphones. Don't leave home without it.

The FM modulator would be the easiest way to go, but the blitzsafe or anything that uses a direct connection will definitely sound better.

Its like a clear radio station vs. CD quality.

I think the "Pioneer" means to control a Pioneer changer while the "Alpine" controls an Alpine changer.
