Question Auto to 6-speed swap?

(dumb question) Has anyone done it?

How hard is it?

How involved is it?

Is it worth it?

It's not been done on a cl to cl basis, but has been done on an older non typs s tl. It's cost more the $6K is very involved & will take a long time to do. It's not a simple thing like a 4 banger civic.

Just buy a 6spd CL < / end of thread >

Like Fuzzy said, it hasn't been done on a CL by anyone here on the forums.... but someone on the TL board has done the conversion.

How good are you with using tools and doing automotive electical stuff ??

if you can get the parts for a good price, and are mechanically inclined i think its a doable swap for much less than 6,000.

It's also alot easier, not to mention much cheaper, just to sell the car and buy a 6sp. There're readily available.

exactly, going on the fact that you've got a 2001 CL (2002s are rare, and you prolly wouldve gotten a 6spd had it been 03) it pointless to put 6,000 into a car only worth about 12k.

Spend that 6K into a newer '03 with lower miles without the hassle. Sounds like a win/win situation.

If you have a type-s already I dont think it would be that bad nor hard. Now if you dont, then you will run into looking for a new motor also.

Its not as simple as dropping it in, but for a CL owner it would work out alot better due to the wiring used is for a CL already
