Ate a SVT Lightning for dinner tonight......and a pullied GTP too!

My buddy and I were crusing in my Maxima to the local car hangout in the Chicago suburbs with his friend who has an intake/pully GTP.

I ran the GTP a couple of times...no juice and pulled him easily. I was rather impressed with my car....especially since I'm running one step colder plugs...gapped really small.

Then I ran into a new '02 SVT Lightning and ran him from a 50 roll...this time...with JUICE....he got WORKED....I put approx 3-4 cars on him from 50-100mph.....afterwards...he tried to find out what I had in my car at the local hangout...and I just told him "intake and exhaust man"

(the Lightning was stock..and funny enough...that was his excuse for losing)

100-shot...so don't bother raising the BS flag ....I don't post BS kills...I probably would have been dead even with him with my old 50-shot though...

Sorry, but I have my doubts. I own a 99 Maxima 5 speed, stock, yes, but I highly doubt even with a 100 shot, you could beat a Lightning by 3-4 cars.

If you really did, cool. I just find it hard to believe

A 4th gen Maxima with a 100 shot of NOS and all bolt ons has the change to run low 13s high 12s. The lightings run in that area as well. 3-4 car lengths is BS, more like 1 car length at the most. What happened is he probably let off after he saw him pulling away.

Russ...I TALKED to the guy...I saw when he let off...he even said I pulled at least 3 cars on him....lightnings DO NOT run low 13s to high 12s stock...they run mid to high 13s...plus his only had about 1000 miles on it...not fully broken in....

You guys can doubt all you want...but I pulled him pretty damn good...and Furbiss112 from maxima.org was in my passenger seat...I don't know if he's a member over here...but he saw it all too.....

Yep, Stock Lightning, I raced against at Carlsbad ran 13.8, caught me at the end and he won by 1 car length. They do move when they finally hook up!

id watch out for modded GTP's....those things can get into the 12's for less than $2000 in mods and no nitrous...theres a guy over at clubgp.com that posted his timeslip and he ran a 12.6x i beleive...he had all the mods...3" pully, intake, exhaust, headers, rockers, no cat, tires, chip, etc, etc..

Scott - I definitely want to see how my car can run with yours. I'll have to set it up for N/A though...I'm running one step colder plugs for the Nitrous and higher baseline Fuel pressure...basically my car runs REALLY rich off the bottle...

Dom - We usually go saturday night....the best place is actually Barrington Rd. and Irving Park Rd. there is a huge dominicks parking lot there..and usually 50-80 cars.....until somebody does something stupid and the cops kick everybody out (last weekend some bikes started popping some wheelies in the lot...and some idiot in a Tahoe had his system so loud it was setting off car alarms)

I used to live right over near there in Schaumburg. Drop me an e-mail when you guys are thinking of going over there and I'll meet you. That's not a very good area for racing though, it's too congested. But if you head down Barrington to 72 and take a left, that's pretty good over there...not much around. I'm looking forward to running you, I think it will be a good race.
