Angry Arm rest issue

My arm rest in the center console won't stay closed and always pops up while I drive. Has anyone had this problem and can anyone suggest how I can fix this. It has become quite an annoyance and would really appreciate some input about it. Thanks.

That happens from time to time with my car too, there should be some screws if you open it up. just tighten them down and that should fix it.

i have the same problem, BUT it is not those screws. i have noticed those screwes need to be tightened but the problem still continued. i figured out that the little clip that holds it down has been bent over time and no longer formed a good connection when closed. i used a heat gun, a hair dryer might work, just heat up the little clip that comes down and bend it forwad a little bit at a time. this is what fixed my problem.

My clip actually cracked so I bought a new one from the dealer for about $12. It's a really easy install... only 2 screws.

Good idea about heating up the clip with a hairdryer and reshaping though.

I had this problem last week. All of my screws had fallen out except one of them. Luckily the screws were underneath and I tightened it. Problem solved

I used velcro on the top and bottom, that worked.

the new clip sold at the dealership is different and is made to avoid this problem. it's pretty cheap and easy to install.
