Aquamist H2O Injection installed...

I did the install this morning - took about 3 hours including some basic tuning. The damn hose to the tank was not long enough so it is currently residing in my back seat (with the seat-belt!)!!

It's not too tough to install... some plumbing and some wiring

It's really hot today but car felt good. Not sure if its quicker but I guess I won't know the impact of this until I try to increase boost.

I hope to try 7-8psi... and unless my engine has gotten weaker it should hit
450+whp if I am successful.

Can do you check the IAT drop while injecting? What psi do you start injecting?

Like 4psi.... its not like a S/C... so pretty much whenever I get to 4psi... I am on the way to 6psi.

I have not done any IAT measurements... tomorrow!

Well... I'm a dodo!! No wonder the car never felt quicker! There was a leak as I had not put the hose in tight and when I was tuning (had the jet on the windshield) the water seemed to not be that 'atomized'.... so I tightened it and voila... its like steam now!

So... install it back in the intake tract and the results are more dramatic. AFR is running about 0.5 higher. Around 12.0:1. This is okay as you can run 12.7:1 while injecting water. This tells me that the intake charge is denser and hence more air gets in. It's like 90+ today but I only really noticed a 5F drop in IAT but then again I wasn't continuously flooring it to really take a good measurement.

The biggest improvement is the delivery of power - its MUCH smoother... I mean significantly smoother throughout the RPM range. I suppose it gets rid of the slightest detonation (the amount we cannot feel/hear) and any/all misfires. I will try higher boost one of these days as well.

Funny thing... I had the bumper off and was driving around trying to tune the car and this Neon SRT-4 starts messing around and *psffftt* 'ing me! I think I wallopped the guy by 20 car lengths!

Anyways, its a good investment - makes my setup safer and potentially allow me to increase boost...

Sounds very promising Ram Are you spraying pure water or water/ethanol?

Based on what you're seeing, would this kit allow me to run the HBP on 91 octane safely in the 100 degree environment here in Fresno?

I am running 100% water right now but will switch to methanol/water combo soon. And yes... I believe you can run the HBP with 91-octane if you have this mod.

I'll be doing this mod some time next month. Probably in 6 weeks or so. The IAT on our setups is much higher than Ram's car so we have more potential to lower IAT.

If you are non-intercooled... then yes, you have more to gain!

So just drove back from playing Poker with a couple of guys (3 in the car including me) and was flooring it a bit... usually I detonate with 3 people in the car. Now... NOTHING... absolutely NOTHING!

I think I can install the ADI on the front plate of the Intercooler... it will dump right into the runners after the charge is already cooled via intercooler..... added safety..

Some info on water injection.

http://member.newsguy.com/~gtfour/skeptics.html

One thing I am confident about Aquamist and not-so confident about the other companies is the pump. The pump is the most critical part of this whole setup and if the water is not atomized properly it will not help! In fact larger droplets would have a negative effect!

Peak pressure is 250psi. It can also deliver 300cc/min at 6 bar (6 x 14.7)

Just saw the kit installed. Looks clean and simple, except for the tank sitting in the back seat of his car! lol All in all, this mod should be easy to install but the power is still to be proven. Allmotor, get some methanol mixed in there, and pop in the 7.25 psi spring!

If the bumper cover is off and the engine is off... you can. If the engine is on and you are right next to the front fender... maybe. Inside the car or under all other circumstances.. no.

If you put some rubber spacers on the mounting point, you won't hear anything.

I think he means did you install the nozzle post-intercooler. The answer would be yes!

Installing pre-intercooler would reduce the efficiency of the IC.
