Anyone Use Fuel Injector Cleaner?

I usually put a bottle in the Accord at each oil change. But with the new car, it seems pointless since everything is new and clean. Does anyone use a fuel product anyway to keep things clean? By the way, I run either 76 or Chevron... are these fuels good enough for clean running for a while? Thanks.

If your using chevron it has techron which is good stuff for keeping your injectors clean. I don't know about 76 gas... I wouldn't bother with the injector cleaner until you get at least 10,000 miles on the engine or at least 2 oil changes.

I bought a bottle of fuel injector cleaner recently, about 24K miles, and it does make a difference....car was driving smoother. I usually stay with Chevron, and sometimes 76, never Arco.

Using them every oil change i guess will prevent buildup and constantly keep them clean.

I bought a penzoil brand fuel injector cleaner because it was in a Metal container instead of a plastic container.

Here's a link to all you wanted to know about injectors and cleaners:

Quote: Adding a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to a tank a gas periodically is great preventive maintenance, but often does little to clean deposits that have already set in.

Was that Penzoil injector cleaner called SHOGAN? The can was so cool I had to buy it. The marketing was great. The can just looked fast.

I've used Techron in my cars once a year for quite a while. While I didn't notice any change to my Tbird (it was relatively new when I started using techron), I did notice an improvement on idle smoothness on my 100,000 mile vw bus.

I use techron every year as a preventive maintanence measure, and plan on using it in my CLS too.

This is wat my acura buddy suggested for things like this. He said alot of gas that you can buy already have some form of fuel injector cleaner already. The bottle stuff of cleaner that you can get from the autozone, pep boys, etc does very little and increases the chance of ur fuel line freezing in very cold weather. He told me instead to go to a honda dealership to request a service, i forgot wat it was called, but they cleaned your fuel injectors. It cost roughly about 100 bucks and it does make a difference because they take them out and run it thru the cleaner. Good luck

This is the stuff the ACURA dealer uses BG44K & is put in at 15K, 30K ect. services I also buy it from them to use between services. www.bgprod.com/autofuel.html
I use the 44K & thats good for every 7,500 miles & the MI 3000 Plus is put in every 3,000 or 4,000 miles I got a can of that free from the ACURA parts guy when I got my brake pads changed & purchased the 44K that he gave me a discount on. I just put in the can MI 3000 PLUS a few hundred miles ago.

$5 every oil change is worth the shot. I've used STP in a large silver container for the last 7 years. Worked super on my old maxima's. Put it in from the start. Using Sunoco 94 & STP in the 2002 CLS...runs like a raped ape so far.
