Anyone try this for the fogs?

While searching for a higher wattage reverse bulb for my Forester, I came across this:

I've always thought that if you can get the light to bounce around the reflective part of the fogs some, it may look alright, and match the hids some.

LEDs don't really project light. They will light up bright, but they won't throw any light on the road.

no, they won't light up much of anything, but neither does an 18W coated bulb. LED's seem to have the best match to HID, but project a narrow beam. My thought was 4 narrow beams, aimed into the housing may fill the entire fog housing better then a M6 and give the appearance of a true fog. even though they would only emit a trivial amount of light.

It is definitely worth a try. Order them and let us know how it turns out.

I have eurolite leds in my housings right now and althogh they look cool, just as its been said they don't do shiat. The lights your showing look like they will project everwhere but ahead and I personally don' think that will light properly. They're made for patio lanterns where the light comes out on the side. The fogs wont benefit from this light.

Go for it! It might work. Post pictures. I thought about trying low voltage landscape halogen bulbs. I do not know how they would look.

I sold my CL a couple months ago. Seeing these brought back memories of all the brainstorming done to make use of the fogs. I just wanted to make the CL community aware that these existed.

i would try them, but from past experiences with LED's i know that they never give a true white color its always bluish or purplish. i posted pcitures of leds for my clear corners not too long ago. they were both supposed to be "white" but the 168 bulb looked blue and the 1157 bulb was deffitely purple and didnt match.
