Anyone Put LED Bulbs In Their Road Lamps?
Just wondering, because the 6-LED bulbs in my parking lights look so damn clean. And I noticed that PIAA 19173 bulbs were just wedge bulbs, the same as the LED wedge bulbs I put in the parking lights.

I got some in my MDX Taillights but not the parking lights yet. They make a drastic difference! Working on the full Led conversion but those little guys can get expensive!

Yeah I know but I meant the road lamps on the '01-'02 CL's, basically where the foglights should be but us CL owners got jipped and stuck with 5 watt wedge bulbs.
But I was thinking about 6-LED wedge bulbs in the road lamps place, would put out a lot more light output, even during the day.

That's interesting, do you have any pictures with them? Only because in all of the pictures that I've seen the LED's look way way brighter than regular wedge bulbs.
I was thinking amber LED's in my road lamps and in my parking lights.

I'm not sure the size of wedge bulb you need, but for road lamps you may want more than 6 LEDs. Check out this site where I got mine. They have all types and sizes. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...gi?product=CAR

i would think LED's would be less bright because they point forward and don't hit off the reflective backing in the road lamps. when i had my road lamps in i just used the polarg m6 bulb and it matched pretty well with my headlights once warmed up

i've got LEDs in my roadlamps. 4 LEDs pointed around that shine off the inside of the roadlamps and one pointed forwards. Light up the housings pretty good.

yup look closely, LEDs for running lights (also rigged to be my parking lights). Turn bulb only flashes with signal (doesnt stay on w/ lights)... yeah, I'm just asking for a ticket, but haven't gotten one yet! I bought the cool white LEDs for everything inside and out. They best match 6000K - 8000K HIDs. Those pics are stock 4300K bulbs for headlights.
Just got 8000K bulbs, gonna put 'em in this weekend and see how they match up.

For the roadlamps I used a 5 LED wedge buld from superbrightleds.com where 4 go around and 1 points out.
As for the parking lights, I didnt use LED's but rather the Sylvania Silverstar parking light bulbs. They have a slight blue hue to them when they are off but burn bright orange when on. I have had them for over a year now and they have not burned out yet..

Sorry to unearth this thread, but im trying to find the best road lamp bulbs to match my headlight HIDs (i got the 6000k from excelerate). Looks like disgruntlednut has them. Whats the best place to get them (online or off)? Not sure if this link: http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...gi?product=CAR is the same as it was months ago.

I moified the housing so it sits in further then drilled holes in the top to let the heat out
but there is a little burn nelt mark in the center of the lamp hardly noticable

HID's run cooler than halogen. You have to modify the housing to hold a new harness then upgrade with an HID kit. There are some really good threads on what the conversion looks like, but no one seems to want to do the DIY write-up on how its done. I plan on modding the fogs this spring and doing a nice DIY write-up. So hang tight!
