Anyone in MD/DC/VA want to go to the track tomorrow? Capitol Raceway

The weather is looking awesome for tomorrow @ Noon when the track opens:

http://www.capitolraceway.com/

It'll cost $25.00 per car tomorrow and you should be able to get in 6 or 7 runs before 3pm.

This is my last chance for a sub 14 second run before the blower goes on. Anyone want to come along?

Okay, guess I'll be going alone.

60 Degrees, 43% humidity, 19 mph tail wind. I smell 13.9

Just as I got there it started to rain, but the conditions prior to that were perfect. Steve was right, big tail wind, cool and dry with high barometer and all. I wanted to watch Steve lay down a 13.9 or whatever. Steve I'll be going as soon as I find some new lightweight wheels! Capital stays open nearly all winter, closed only in Feb. I think.

Good conditions today. About 65* only 45% humidity, and a wind that gusted up to 20 MPH that acted as either a tail wind or came in from the driver's side of the car. Scroll down to see what that tail wind did for my MPH on run #3

I got 1 run in today before it started to rain (the first time). Unfortunately it was a 14.2 because I banged the rev limiter on the first shift.

I got 3 other runs in after the rain delay. It rained again later though. I was going to stay for the eliminations because I was so damn consistant today:

Run #1 14.2 @ 99.5
Run #2 14.163 @ 99.7
Run #3 14.160 @ 101.08 FASTEST TRAP SPEED EVER (spun off the line though, worst 60' of the day 2.19)
Run #4 14.162 @ 99.9 (rev limiter again )

I was hoping to stay for elimintations considering my times were dead on all afternoon, but it started to pour down at 4:30 and we left.

101.08 MPH OMG

Nice times Steve, great MPH! No mine is Monterey Blue Pearl with IHEP and lowered, with WW spoiler and tint. Keep in touch and I'll meet you there some day. I want to run as soon as I get light weight wheels...my next mod. I have a 2000 TL that stock at Capital did a 15.6 and with mods I was shooting for the 14's as a goal and turned a.............no lie 14.995!!!!!!!!!!! I laughed my head off. Hoping for a 14.75 soon. Keep going for your 13! BTW I calculated that had I been eight inches BEHIND where I was at the finish that I would have been a 15.000! That's the way drag racing is!

I think he'll be living at the track once the blower goes on.

Amazing traps. Hopefully witht the blower and cold weather you'll be low 13s.

Steve at 100 mph (your trap) you are travelling 146.7 feet per sec. and to be in the 13's you need to outrun that .16 (as in 14.16) so you need .16 times 146.7 feet or about 23 feet , or about one carlength or so to get there! That is if I have it figured out correctly. Do you have an automatic?

Yes I have an automatic. Without 40 degree temps 13s is not possible with my mods. With drag radials and a 1.9 60' it would be, but with only a 2.1 60' it just isn't possible in our cars with my set up (everything but b-pipe).

Nice times! Can't wait to see what your car runs w/ the S/C! That track appears to be well-prepped.

Type R consistantly runs 2.0 60's though. He has much more torque than I do which gets him moving faster. I'm only about 10 whp away from him though.
