Your best bet might be to put up the good parts on ebay.

Don't know where you could find any local buyers. Maybe call up some salvage yards.

Ebay is the place, people sell salvages all the time.
I would gladly take your passenger door chrome trim above the top of the door.(if it's not broke to shit and in good condition)

I'd pull anything that is worth selling (mostly aftermarket stuff) and sell the thing on e-bay. As long as you clear 3 grand or so, you should be even.

What is the extent of the damages? If it's not too severe and vital parts haven't been damaged too much (engine, transmission, chassis, etc) then you will probably have a good chance of selling it as a whole car instead of parting it out. Parting out a salvage car is a BIG pain in the ass. You have take off the parts, which takes a lot of your time, and there's no guarantee that you will be able to sell everything asap. It could sit on your driveway for the next two years while you part it out.

By the way, why does your insurance company have a limit on how much they are paying out?
