Anyone hear about the Ford GT40??
I heard they might make it. Supercharged V8 w/ 500HP and 500ft-lbs torque! 
Anyone have any info on it? I know some of my Viper buddies are ready to trade in their cars for that one when/if it comes out.

If Ford does make it, they'd better keep the specs at or near that concept version. Otherwise they are tarnishing the GT40 nameplate.
If I had to put money on it, I'd say it's just another irrelevant concept car.

If Ford is going to produce it, you can be sure that it's going to be a homologation special like the original GT40 was. Ford wants a presence in endurance racing and they're not going to let the Dodge/GM monopoly of the GTS class stand uncontested.
IOW, think Saleen S7, an ultra-expensive thinly veiled racecar mostly unsuitable for street driving and impossible for daily driving. Unless you're a collector, you'd probably be better off looking into a 360 Modena.

I think they should produce it, it has helped the image of Dodge ALOT by producing the Viper. Even if they don't make much money off the car, just to get their name out in the high perf. car market, they should bring it out.
