Anyone ever driven a Legend GS Coupe

I must be an idiot but I didn't know Acura made a GS trim level of the Legend. This car's got the Type II Legend engine with 230 hp, 16 inch alloy wheels, 8 speaker bose system and traction control.

If i had know about that, i would have tried to find a this car with as low mileage as possible and get that instead of my 02 cls. At the very least i would have test driven that car to compare it to the cls. Anyone else driven one of these? how does it compare to the cl? Not like i'd ever ditch my cls (i love it) but it would have been a hell of alot cheaper to get that legend gs coupe.

Good one. Legend GS coupe never existed, suburban legend. Whoever is telling you this knows nothing about Legend Coupes. Trust me I had 2 Legend Coupes, know every model, had all the brochures. You will not find a Legend GS Coupe in any Acura brochure from 87 to 95.
Show me a picture of one and I'll get a good laugh.

I thought the legend coupe 6spd with a type II enigne and 2 pistons front brake calipers is the LS coupe? I have driven both and I don't care what people tell you it doesn't feel as good as the CL. It drive more like a luxury sedan. If you think your CL front end is heavy wait till you drive one of those. Plus if you find one with 10-20K miles those still go for $20-25K. No warranty and can't buy extended warranty, no thanks.

Although that's the sedan, it also came as a coupe apparently from some references from around the net:

Same here, I had a 92 Legend LS sedan. I loved that car so much but i had alot of problems with it. white smoke or blue smoke coming out of the tailpipe was an ongoing issue until i had to replace the entire engine with a used one. overheating was also an issue for me. that car rode heavier than the cl does but i'd imagine that 230 hp coupe or sedan would be a bit quicker than consumerguide.com rates it. i guess that extra hp and torque in the cls helps quite a bit

I was going by your title, 'GS Legend Coupe'. The GS was a sedan, and basically the same car as the LS Coupe. It's an ongoing joke on the Legend boards about GS coupes. The GS was top of the line sedan, the LS was top of the line coupe. Both offered 6 speeds in 94-95.
The Coupe always had the features first, then filtered down to the sedan trims. The GS sedan gets attention I guess because most buyers buy sedans, but the LS Coupes had everything the GS sedan did and the coupes always had it a year or 2 earlier.

I love the legend coupes. I was looking for one but could not find one in good shape. Then I found the CL-S for a really good deal.

I'm sure glad acura simplified their auto line with the legend LS GS L, etc..

I liked the cls because of the power, i never even test drove a legend coupe, no need to after test driving the cls. the only other car i was interested in was the new 04 redesigned accord coupe

I had 2 Leg coupes. My automatic 95 G2 (91-95) I had was so smooth and solid, I noticed the difference immediately when I drove an 01 CLS, not as planted or solid feeling. Still I love my 6 speed CLS, it's the next best thing to having a brand new 95 Legend Coupe LS 6 speed in 1995 (for $43k).

My family had a 94 LS legend coupe 6 speed (got totalled in an accident) and we still currently have a 94 GS legend sedan. We bought them new and they are still in perfect condition. We havent had any problems whatsoever on these cars. They are built so well and so solid unlike current acura cars. The 6 speed was such a nice car to drive..Its a big difference compared to the auto version. They were both the type II engines with 230 hp
