anyone add just a sub and amp to stock system?

i did this in my tl but i had replaced the interior speakers because they were so shitty. i put one twelve in the trunk with an amp and kept my stock head-unit. i really dont wanna change my stock radio unless i go for in dash dvd. anyway i figure with radio bass dwn and treble high and an amp with a 12 in the trunk i can get all my needed bass from there. what do you guys think? i am not looking for award winning sound just a lil more thump.
thanks bros...

Just rim the truck lid with a door edger (I used Trimbrite Door Edge for trucks). No rattling trunk.......

ok.. do you push Trimbrite or something? I swear you reply to every thread with this line... anyways... I have the said setup also.. trunk still rattles. Trimbrite eliminates the trunk-to-metal rattling, but not rattling within the trunk lid itself, where I notice my rattles to be.

Your gonna have to play with the amp settings, because you still want your fronts and rears to produce the medium bass and let your sub do the lows.... I got a remote gain adjuster with my amp so It's easy to adj...

400-Watt Mono Kicker AMP and dual 10” Alumapro Subs in my car.
I think it sounds great and I didn’t have to rip anything apart inside the car.

The stock BOSE system isn’t all that bad, it just lacks BASS.
