Any1 Else Pissed Off?

it sounds to me like the TL-S is much better than our car. Ex- mirrors are smaller, stearing is tighter and handels better, rims are more scratch proof, fog lights are "real"ect ect ect.... Im pissed!!!!!!! It better not be faster than our cars too, or i'll just fall over dead right now!!!

I love it except I wish it came in a 2-Door version.
Oh….That’s right, I already have one.

NOPE not jealous one bit.
No need for a 4-door.
I have my car for 9-months now and have only used the back seat like twice.

And the color selection is worse then the CL-S.
You can't even get an "S" in RED.

Well, I'll find out on Saturday. If the steering really is tighter (like BMW tight), your damn right I'll be mad. I can't stand the floaty, loose steering in my CL-S when cruising around 40-50 in the city.

Of course, I'm just an OCD who thinks that true happiness lies in getting a new car every twelve months!

look at it this way... how many TL's do you see out there on the street... IMO, way TOO many... Personally, i like having a car that is somewhat unique.. You see Bimmers, Mercedes, Honda's , TL's, Lexus's everywhere! But not that many Cl-S at all.. And thats what's special... Why does it make heads turn? because people haven't seen it before.. Granted, there will be more as time passes, but I doubt it will ever get close to the # of TL's/TLS' out there.... so i feel special ! you should too... we have a great car !

OH, also, of course there is always going to be improvements made for our car and the TL-S that makes them somewhat "better"... but thats how technology works.. its time-dependent... so unless you're thinking of trading in your car every year to keep up with the little changes, I would just be happy with what we have )

okay, the mirrors are an obvious improvement, and I suspect they'll be on the 2002+ cl and cl-s...

but where is this "better steering" and "better handling" nonsense coming from? it's the same basic car with the same basic running gear but with two more doors...

as far as scratch proof rims are concerned, they're *narrower* than ours, so of course they'll get scratched less. dropping the rim width has that effect...

Dude... get over it.

First off... I don't think they actually got the Torque steerin... look at all the window stickers people have posted... they all say "Speed sensitive steering" JUST LIKE US.

Second... you had your car more then a year before this ugly boat of a sedan came out.

Third... sure... the rims dont buldge as much... but it makes them look smaller... and not only do they look smaller... BUT they are ONLY 6.5" wide... the same width as CL-P wheels.

The mirrors.... SO WHAT? So go to your Ac dealer... go to the parts department... and buy two TL-S mirrors for your CL. Big deal.

Be happy you don't have that ugly ass oversized Civic grill.

Be happy you don't have headlights that look like their about to cry.

Tank, have you even seen the TL-S yet? Besides the width differential (which I don't believe until I see a measurement myself), there is a significant, physical difference in the arch height of each spoke. I push pixels all day and consider myself an expert on minute details, but will be taking measurements this Saturday when I perform a test drive and thorough inspection.

As far as the steering goes, my associate, a gentleman who handles the CL-S on a daily basis via customer test drives, has stated that he feels a significant tightening and reduction of steering boost between the CL-S and TL-S. Again, I'll confirm on my test drive.

Droid, you can confirm the width differential by 2 of the following ways:

Go to the TL-S section of Acura.com website... go to features/handling and you will see they state the wheels are 6.5" wide.

Or... go take a look at either of the 3 photos of window stickers that have been posted here. They all say 17x6.5

You can also check out the tire size.

as soopa pointed out, no need to spend a lot of time analyzing the details of the photos - check the window sticker or the website for wheel witdh... I agree the wheels look similar, but they're most definitely not the same.

since the sticker on the tl-s simply states "speed-sensitive" power steering, as the sticker on my cl-s did, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there is very little changed between the two models, and, accordingly, any difference in handling will be subjective, minor, and easily accounted for by normal deviations in the manufacturing process.

your friend may be right, but you may feel differently once you have a stint behind the wheel.

Hold up. I just looked at a TL-S last night, and they looked like the same exact rims we have, complete with that little bulge at the end....I don't see what the big deal is....

I saw them in person too and they look the same. But I didn't break out a friggen ruler like some people are doing. They are still going to scratch in the same spot as our rims, so what is the big deal?

don't you think our CLS look more classy? yes, originally I was looking for 4 door luxury sports car, but i fell in love with CLS... to me TL looks too anonymous, no personality, from certain angle, it is too much like a camry.

in addition, stock TLS shouldn't be faster than stock CLS, since TLS is heavier.

I agree with most people's answers here.. so what... I just bought my car 2+ weeks ago, and I bought it cuz I like the look, the feel , and the ohhhs and ahhhs don't hurt either. I still laff every time i think of a Type S 4-door. Is this car meant for the family guy/gal that just wants a life makeover or what?!?! I like the sportiness of the 2 door type S. If you are so focused on the mirrors, try driving another vehicle for 2-3 weeks. Then come back to your CL.. I bet you will forget all about that what was it again?!?! oh yeah the mirrors...

Yeah, no doubt, tank. The Audi S4 and RS4 wagon must be a couple of illusions as well.

The stock CL-S is no sports car itself, Fab.

TL-S 4 door weighs the same as the CL-S 2 door. A little help from the lighter 6.5" wheels.

The steering is different. The CS-S has speed sensitive steering while the TL-S has torque sensitive steering.

CL-S has a 6 speaker bose system. TL-S has a 5 speaker bose system but one being a 9" subwoofer.

TL-S *important* lit change holder.

TL-S :No major scheduled tune-up for 105,000 miles: LOL.

I realize it was SUPPOSED to have Torque Sensitive Steering.... BUT...

I havent found ANYTHING saying it actually does...

All I can find are pre-release rumors.

All the window stickers... brochures... and the website state Speed Sensitive.

Who gives a monkeys uncles rats ass???? Get over it. One is a 2 door (sporty sports car) and an other is a 4 door (sporty sedan), period.

As for the comment before about saving weight by going with the 6.5" rim vs the 7" rim, I don't know. Your probably saving, at best, 2lbs.

Are you sure there's a difference in the steering? Maybe the sedan has larger sway bars. I know my old 4 door teg had larger sway bars than the coupe and handled better.
