all went smooth when I put mine in this weekend - I would deffinately do it again for $100. Before the intake manafold was almost too hot to even touch after driving, now after a long trip, the IM is barely even warm and the TB is cool to the touch. It is very obvious that this will give gains because the cool air can get directly into the engine now vs. being heated back up w/o the spacers.

I can feel a good difference in the pull also.

I'll save my $$. Not worth it to me. It just so hot & humid in FL. I really don't think it will make much of a difference.

I promise it will help. I cant stress how much cooler the intake manafold and Throttle body are now after the spacers. With the radiator hot as hell after a drive, the IM and TB used to be as hot. So basically the air gets super hot right before it hits the engine (not ideal at all). But now with the spacers, it stays cool all the way into the engine. I feel a big increase in power - nearly as much as when I put on the V2 intake.

I would recommend it 100% especially for only $100 and it gives you a chance to clean out the IM and EGR port at the same time - something that the dealer wants $300 for. The install was pretty easy. Anyone can do it with some very simple tools and about 2-3 hours - the instructions that come with the spacers are more than enough.

The IC + the thermoblock spacer works very well. Even though I had to lose the strut bar to put in the thermoblock spacer, I wouldn't go back. The IC seems to benefit greatly from the spacer, even after some really hard runs, the power form the IC is still there, much less heat soak than w/o it. As for the strut bar, the care feels more responsive w/o it, I don't miss it, of course hard #'s most likely would show differing results. I'm sure Acura didn't just put it there for looks. Anyway, thermoblock spacers gets a from me.

So lemme get this straight... you have to lose the strut bar totally to put in the spacers?

Cool. Thanks guys.

On a side note, does anyone know of any good So-Cal shops? I don't trust myself to do this on my own.

*edit. Sorry for hijacking

Heh. One of my friends owns the shop. Anyone have any experience with them? His exact words were... "you can come to us. but we're real pricey. I dont' think I can get you much of a discount." . Hah.

they charge the going rate ~$60-65/hr. They've done some work for me and did a good job but I haven't used them for years.
You can also call JC Service but you won't save any $. They have top notch mechanics. Talk to Willie and tell him I sent you. 858.292.8042

don't pay anyone to do this job. Just spend the $100 or so bucks and go get Craftsman tool setup from sears that includes everything you need to do it. Now you have your own tools and have the experience to do it yourself!
