Mike, I've never gotten my tint done in Sacto before. Sorry.

I'm still trying to find one here in the south bay.

But if you find one up there, let me know. I may do it up there if the price is right.

Btw, are you planning to come to the meet this Sunday?

If not, maybe I'll see you at the Comptech facility..

Thanks, anyway Eric. If/when I find a decent shop up here I'll pass it along.

Unfortunately I can't make the meet this weekend. I have to provide on-call support on a timely basis for my group through Sunday, so I need to stay close to home throughout the whole weekend.

Hope to meet you at Comptech.

There is a car wash off Army and 101. I've brought my last 3 cars there and they do excellent work ! He charged me last year 189.00 for the darkest legal tint for my CLS. They had many brand new Volvo's for him to tint, so he must be doing well, however, his business is in one of the many car wash stahls, don't judge a book by it's cover ! What I've seen is, East Bay tint companies rape you ! Go to SF, it's price is right !

Thanks for the tip fabvsix, that is a really good price. Do you have a phone number for that shop? What days are they open?

Mike,
I think Ashburner got his tint done recently.

Take Army EAST, just when you go "under" 101 ramp, the next light, go right, follow that and you will pass a large old fashion car wash on your right. Pull in, go to the back and there it should be ! You may feel like your in a small Mexico ! I always went early Saturday morning. Bring cash and be prepared to have them start right away !

Eclipse Auto tinting did it... I think they are off Auburn Blvd.

I think it turned out very nice. Besides the tiny bubbles up top, the windows look very clean. You can only notice the bubbles if your a foot away from the car and really staring at it.

I can recommend a good tint shop in Santa Rosa if you up for a little drive.
I've tinted my old cars in there and my friend did his tint job too there. Those guys are very good with what they are doing.
Llumar tint is the best.

Doh! Thanks, prikid. I was just in Santa Rosa last weekend visiting family. I may be in the area again within the next month. I'll give them a call, once I figure out what % tint I want.

Yeah I had 2 of my cars done @ Eclipse Window Tinting and I am very happy with the results. They take their time and don't rush the job. They also put the back window tint on in 1 piece. And they don't "Push" tint into cracks to apply it. They take the car apart to do it right. For my CL they did it for $250. I thought that was a good deal.

Thanks again Ash & q2killer.

q2killer: what type of tint and % did you have done? Also, would you be interested in joining a couple of other local CL-S owners in a mini-meet? I am trying to organize an an informal meet for this weekend. There would be two other participants besides myself. Let me know here or email me at mlcarlson@citlink.net.

I don't really know if you get out to east bay much but there's a place in Livermore (he did my CL-S) and it was flawless (not one bubble, crease or fleck of dust) and he made a custom black high density sheet of vinyl/compound to hide all of the dots at the top of the rear window.... you have to see it because EVERYONE says it looks totally factory quality and he did it all for $225 --- 15% REAR WINDOW, 15% REAR SIDES AND 35% PASS AND DRIVERS SIDE WINDOWS. He only uses top quality tint (Llumar w/ lifetime guarantee) here's the info for his business
Rocky Mountain Window Tint
Owner- Matt Britton 3985 First Street, Unit D Livermore, California 94550, (925)

I've already turned 3 of my friends onto his work and they all had the same results I experienced *perfect tint job*

I had my Camaro done at Elite Performance and they did an OK Job... I wasn't very impressed and noticed a few small runs in the tint.

They had to tint it twice because the first time they found metal chips inside the rear window and so I drove the car to the dealership to complain and they said they didn't see anything wrong. (although you could easily see the bubbles over the metal chips. Anyways, they made me remove the tint before they would replace the window and then Elite Performance tinted the new window. The job was OK...

Thanks jjc001. It sounds like they did an awesome job with the tint. I'll definitely give them a call.

I'd love to see what it looks like. Do you have any pics you can post?

q2killer, check your email for a length response. We'll meet at the Starbuck's at Hwy 99 & Laguna at 9AM. Haven't nailed down whether Saturday or Sunday yet. Either is doable for me, I'm working on the other participants (you know who you are!).
