Any One w/ HELMs please help
I am trying to get my turn signals 1157 to come on only when signaling for a turn, and not to come on and stay on when the headlights are on. This works fine during the day. I wanted to know what the three colored wires correspond to coming out of the turn signal ballast? Scooter mention a single filament bulb, but I am not sure if this would remain off with the lights on.

this sounds like a neat project but i think it might look kinda funny with the housing we have. i dont its in the dark so who knows. only issues i have with this mod is that it might actually look bad and i dont think this is legal?

Logan, cover one of the bulb's contact points with electrical tape.
One is for "always on" and the other is for the turn signal. There are only two points so just switch the tape to the other side if it doesn't work right the first time. That'll give you the look you're after.

You might want to check out some Kapton tape if it is really hot.

$5.00 for a roll lasts forever and takes 500-degrees. I've used it near halogen bulb sockets...
And for overkill... 1/8" dots:

Sorry, I haven't been able to log on in a week or so due to a family tragedy. But some one else had suggested this here in town. I tried but couldn't get the light to light at all and assumed they were positive negative. I must have been covering both after turning it in?? But I'll give it another try, Thanks for your Help, I wish we could just have white front turns!

Of the two contact points on the bulb's bottom, if the wrong one is covered, the bulb won't light. Try switching the tape to the other contact point. I've tried this and it works for me (bulb activates for turn signal only).
yep, if I'm reading the AZ statutes correctly, only red, amber or yellow are allowed for the turn signal (no white).
p.s., sorry to hear about the family tragedy Hope things are getting better.
