any ideas ??

Recently I am hearing a pretty distinctive thud coming from the lower part of the rear of the car. Its most apparent when i'm slowing down to a stop. It sounds like a hollow can hitting something. I have rear sway upgrade but I checked everything underneath the car to make sure there is no loose bolts or any play anywhere. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I've checked everything I could think of. Nothing in the trunk either.

Check the rear struts for possible failure .They make all sorts of weird noises when the seals are blown .You are looking for wetness around the part where the spring sits on the lower perch on the strut .

Hey Jens or anyone else who had experiences with this......
I checked for a blow seals or leaks and none at all. So i took off the sways and re-coated it with grease. Went for a test run and its still making the noise. My friend was suggesting it might be the end links? Any suggestions on fixing this problem.

check motor mounts. when your car is shifting down to 1 it may be hitting a worn mount.
