Another XSPower Header Dyno!!!!!

Well today i drove over to ProMotion Tuning today for a dyno. It wasnt as easy as a drive there, i had to sit in vacation traffic for 35mins(2miles) before pulling into the dyno shop. All i was thinking was OH GREAT a heatsoaked engine. I think i will continue to write pointless rambles ...and not post any dyno numbers.

On all my pulls i did have the drivers side foglight out so the air was blowing directly on the filter. Maybe I forgot to mention the dyno pull was done in 4th gear.

STATS:
03 CLS-6speed
AEM cold air intake
XSPower Headers

Done on an AWD DynoJet Using front rollers only.

First pull: 248whp
Second pull: 246whp

On the third pull we took a 15min. break which helped me yeild my best pull of the afternoon.

Third pull: 253whp and 218lbs of torque Graphs are on their way!!

Im pretty much at sea level where i dynoed and will be posting my dyno graphs as soon as the company emails them to me

253 whp is amazing for just headers/intake.

doubting thomas... let's see the graph. what kind of SAE adjustments were made?

sounds a little high, but it is a 6speed.

253?? Holy crap, that's awesome. I've been thinking about getting a baseline dyno of my car while its still stock so I have something to compare it to when I finally get some mods.

I thought that 253 was a little on the high side as well for my mods. I really dont know what the SAE Corrections are, care to explain? Im still waiting on the dyno shop to email me the three runs. Makes me wish I had a baseline dyno of my car when it was stock.

true. Well, 01s has dyno'd the same numbers on 2 different dynos, if I'm not mistaken. But I very well could be.

Well here is the graph for pull 3 that netted me 253whp. Unfortunately the place forgot to email me the first 2 pulls.
And yes the dyno is sae modified.

click image to enlarge and once that opens you can click again to full size. Too Much clicking for i'm concerned I'm a picture posting....

that AFR is FLAT. wow. the torque is a little choppy, but it says right around 215 the whole way. can't argue much on that graph. must have been a perfect day, perfect run, perfect conditions.

I dont understand why the hp and tq seem to fall off at 6.5K? I do have a dip right before 4K RPMS on the graph which i think is that hesitation with the 6speeds, it showed up on all 3 of my dyno runs. I guess i just got lucky

I think Intake and Header is all im doing performance wise to this car. This is the first time I have ever dynoed a car, next week I might get my Supercharged Grand Prix a run on the dyno

The 4K drop is normal. Every dyno I did has it.
So we have 2 unreliable dyno's here. Anyone want to give a 3rd try?

cl-s are very sensitive to temperture change. a long cool down would account for the good numbers.

also, that's on par with a 350z with revup engine.

The dyno shop didnt send me the first and second pulls, but ill call them and see if they can, my first 2 pulls netted me in the high 240 range...I do have pics of my car strapped to the dyno I should post

All Mine, the Rev-Up engine is the 3.5L in the 350z that puts out 300hp

the dyno curve is fine...all dynos have a range of variable and one shouldnt dyno race...it's a tunning tool not a my car in florida makes more power than yours in california....the track is the place to show that...take it to the 1/4...if it runs 13's at 100+ then id say the number is good

With the six speed, intake, and headers you should hit high rpms more frequently. That is where you'll really feel the headers.

The torque on the CLS6 isnt bad at all, so there really isnt a need for high RPM's. But it could always use some more torque.

it took so long, Ihad to get the DynoJet WinPep viewer to get the rest of the graphs. So here they are.

All I can think is the dyno calibration is off. The charts look correct. Nothing that would tell you the car is not making those #'s. The TQ curve is a little flat. You have over 200 tq at 3K RPM? That doesn't make sense. Those #'s just can't be right. Look at the dyno postes on CL & TL's over the years & none of them are close to those #'s with those mods.
