another WS6 falls victim...

...to the CL eep R...caught a light with this guy in his red WS6 LS1 ...i look over as he swigs his coke....i could tell by his expression he was plannin on handin' me my ass ...but you know all good plans go astray ...however that quote goes...ended up i think he choked on that coke....cause he choked on the launch anyway and there was just no getting that back...took it to about 85-90 where he ran out of lane from the slower car in front of him...swung into mine as we cleared the two cars i moved over but I had already gotten out of it...it was over....he came beside me, all grins...both gave the thumbs up and went our ways....i want you all to realize im aware that the A4's and well the 6MT's strongest point is 3rd and id say he might have gone by me had we taken it to 100+ as i 've only trapped a best 102+ ....but i get out pretty good ...ive pulled countless 2.0's 60' s and lets face it that where it's won and lost

had he launched correctly, youd have been schooled bad!! its funny how everyone you come across with a Ws6 drives for shit. a stock well driven WS6 is good for very low 13s easily....youd never beat a well driven stock WS6 with your current setup. i mean come on, we are talking about a car with over 100 more HP and ft lbs than yours. good run though, i bet hes got his tail between his legs in a major way!! maybe he will go learn how to drive his car now. a guy can have all the HP he wants but without the skill to drive it, stuff like this happens, he gets beat by a car that under ideal conditions wouldnt have a chance.

well jim ...you're right and wrong...even a well launched WS6 has a hard time going 2.0 in the 60 on stock tires (not draggers) and ive seen them run 80-83 in the 1/8th ...it's the second half of the track where they shine that same car that goes 82 in the 1/8th goes 105 in the 1/4 to a 13.3-4 i go 80 to a 101 13.7-9 but on the street if i get the hole shot it's over well driven or not, theyre not comin back until speeds that id rather not drive on most streets

Jimcol711,
I agree with typeR, i've gone head to head with modded mustangs that run high 13's and pull hard on them until about 1/8th mile and then they eat me alive

yea typer is right, the ls1 is like a whole different car in the second 1/8, i've ran many at the track. i have actually took some through the end of first gear but they always get ahead then put carlenghts on at 70+ mph

jim,
the ws6 and type r's car are soo close in the 1/4 that whoever gets a better launch on the street will win since most street races r just to 70-80ish, thats the first 2 gears in our cars where its very strong

also a WS6 that goes 13.2 up north will more than likely go 13.5 here...in the heat and humidity

on the street, the ls1 can be tricky to launch. especially for the guys that go bargain basement on the tires they replace on their cars. These cars with 6 spd tend to bog or spin relatively easy, especially on roads where the surface isn't all that great.

I've got a set of nitto DRs on the car right now and they do hook pretty well, except when initially cold. type R has a great sleeper there. Off the line is where the street race happens when cars are reasonably matched, and up to 80 you have to have a rocket to make up a significant difference off the line.

what you need is prospective...in florida more LS1' trapp 103-105 than 106-109... 82-83 in the 1/8th than 85-86 ...ive trapped 81 ...with that in mind he who gets out first will more than likely win a race to 80mph now had we gone to 100+ im sure he would have gone by me
