Another tip for applying tire dressing...

I had one of those foam sponge pads for shining shoes. It no longer works on shoes...

So, I got to thinking...hm....

Spray the tire dressing on the sponge and just wipe it on the tires. It takes less time than spraying and there is alot less mess.

Do not flame me if you do not like this idea.....

Thanks.

how does the sponge hold up? - seems like a good idea, i use a paper towl, then use window cleaner on the wheels to clean off any residue

I have only used it twice so far but the sponge is holding up really well. I have not had any of the sponge break or flake off.

I now need to buy another one for my shoes, so that when the one I use for my tires is kaput, I have a replacement.

Akim. You are welcome. Come back here and do a testimonial to at least have another opinion..

Pepboys sells a sponge for just this application. They are shaped so that they fit the contour of the side of the tire. They work well and it's a lot less messy. I use it with the Zaino tire treatment.

I use a terry cloth applicator pad like you use to put on wax. I spray it on the pad, wipe the tires a few times. Then I go back with some Quick Detailer on the wheels and wipe it down with a towel.
