Another Sad Day - Kind of ...

Well, I been a member here a long time and have also owned two CL Type S vehicles; a 2001 and a 2003 six speed. As you can tell, I really prefer sport coupes!

But today I ordered a 2007 BMW 335i coupe, six speed manual transmission, sport package, sparkling graphite metallic exterior with black leather interior - should be sweet! It should be here in 6-8 weeks.

I will try and post a picture when I get it and I won't be a stranger. Don't be fooled by my low number of posts; I probably visit the Acura CL site just about every day and have taken a lot of pride in what many of you have done with your CL's.

Like many people here have said, I will never forget the first time I drove my CLS - it is a great car!! But am ready for something different.

Take care - It has been a great ride!

Dave

Congrats - your profile is almost identical to mine:

Strongly considering the 335i coupe!

Will the 335i have the same impact as the G35 a couple of years back, where everyone started jumping ship?

No, its not really in the same price range as the people who bought the CL-S new. The G35 is in that 30-35,000 price range, while the 335 is in the 40-45,000 price range. Thats a pretty big jump in payment.

Good luck Dave, I almost bought a ''328i'' after myself first "Type R" was stolen!.. I can't seem to stray, I've had good luck with them..I still can't seem to shake the HONDA/ACURA bug after owning them after 12 + years.....I know a woman that traded her 350Z for a 2006 330ix, she's not a happy camper at all, she said it doesn't drive as sporty!...well atleast if your not happy with be sure to trade it in after about a year and try to keep the mileage down

Our HR Manager just got one. Weird color too, kind of a blue/purple/grey. Odd. Anyway, he loves it, so I'm sure you will, too. Enjoy!

Awesome ride bro! Have fun with it. I've seen two on the streets so far and I have to say that both times made me want to make a visit to the BMW dealership.

Congrats! Can't wait to see the pixs.

you must have meant "good luck w/ the Bimmer". some of those elitists get touchy about distinguishing between the cars and the Beemer bikes. but Dave is still a newb enjoying a bad ass car. good luck w/it and congrats!

edit: like KR said-

You should have done European Delivery with the BMW. It is basically like getting a free trip to Europe.

Thanks everyone for the positive responses! I have never considered a BMW in the past - My last four cars have been Honda/Acura products. Hands down the CLS beat the BMW 3 series from a price/performance standpoint.

But, this 335i twin turbo looks like a real beast. I have read that the boost is set very conservatively, so the potential of this engine is incredible.

By the way, I would have loved to do the ED, but I just don't have the time. There are some incredible lease deals out there on this car, so I think I did okay.

335 is a great car. My friend just bought one and stock it put down around 300RWHP when it's rated at 300 crank. If you get a turbo back exhaust, some supporting parts, and turbo upgrades, you'll easily see 400rwhp. By the way, the interior is amazing as well
