Another one bites the dust

sorry to hear man, almost the same thing happened to me over a year ago, it was a 4 car domino effect. My whole bumper and trunk was gone. Costed around $6k or so for repairs and I got like $1500 for neck pains.

I didn't take any pictures but they're similar to tphilips as my rear windshield is being held together by tint, but my trunk was pinched close not dangling open like his. Turns out my gas tank got pierced too as it was leaking gas. Safe to say it's done.
I'm going to have the car towed to an autobody shop for the insurance adjustor to take a look at it. I'll get the police report Friday.

And the problem with shipping the engine/tranny is I don't wanna go through the hassle nor do I know who would ship it or how they would get it. Plus packaging something like that and it getting damaged during shipping. NOT worth the hassle.
Furthermore, I'd like my mechanic to get some work, and anyone in the NY/NJ area could vouch for Jae as he's done plenty of 6 speed 3.5 liter swaps already. It'd be a seamless process you'd get basically EVERYTHING needed once on the spot and have a reputable knowledgeable guy perform the work. It was hit in the rear so there is 0 damage to the vital parts.

basically just need a truck freighting company
as far as off loading it, it be going to my work if anything, and i got access to a fork lift if needed (another company's, but friendly with them though )
it be more being able to actually load it on your end though
and basically for shipping it, you put it on a pallet, then tie it down good to the pallet so it does not move around
as far as work for your mechanic, he be pulling it out, so there is some work there

to ship the motor and tranny, it'll be about 350. u'll have to put it on a pallet
and by the way, parting out a car is a bitch. Trust me on that.
Might seem like easy and profitable at first, but it becomes pain in the ass to hold on to the car and wait till some one asks you for a part here and there.
its really not that profitable if u look at how much labor has to go in it.

140,000 miles young
A sad day in CL land...good luck with everything. This is why I hate stupid drivers and really think the requirements to get a license in this country are a joke. The Silverado guy was probably texting dammit - I had to swerve across a double yellow almost into oncoming to avoid a moron next to me who came within inches while looking at his phone and not the road.
I'd be interested in the tranny if it goes to totality, I think mine's nearly had it.

It had 127K and i had just done the timing belt etc. Loved that car!
Got a BMW 325ci 5spd. Big mistake. Happened to see another '03 CLS6 on Craigs List about 4 months ago 90K mi. Dumped the BMW and haven't looked back.
Saw my old car on your site when I came back to AcuraZine. Gosh that's tough. Like seeing your child on the operating table becomming an organ donor!

My wreck took out the rear winshield, big bends above both rear wheels and even screwed up the seats (they reclined a bit during impact and would not come all the way, back up)

TPhillips, mine was all that and the gas tank was punctured.
Anyway, car is totalled. Keep your eyes peeled on the Black Market for some nice parts and if anyone wants to purchase the car whole, also check the BM. If I don't get a quick payment for the entire car, I'll let the Insurance Co. take it.
