Another one bites the dust

Yep, not even 6 months since I bought my 2nd CL, I was the first car in front of a 3 car pileup. Some idiot in a Silverado rear ended an Expedition which crashed into me. More then likely my CL is toast, just after I bought new wheels and brakes.

If it's totalled, I'll be parting out (All the standard Comptech parts and other crap) and I may try and buy the car back to sell the Engine/Tranny and other parts so I'll keep everyone posted. The car is at "The Lab" in Lyndhurst where for everyone in the Tri-State area know's is Jae's shop who is well accustomed to performing 6 speed swaps so if you may know anyone (Accord, TL etc) that was looking to do a swap you could probably drop my engine, tranny, clusters, center console and drop it right into your car so it would be very convenient. If its totalled I'm NOT shipping those large items.

Definetly not picking up another CL, 3rd time isn't the charm... Getting something European with Turbos.

Yea, Id get a Bimmer. I wouldnt get an Audi. Unless theres a warranty. But once its up, Im trading it in.

<---- Seriously considering the 135i, but I can't see putting the mileage on it that I put on the CL.

The only way Id own an Audi (or BMW for that matter) is if there is a warranty.

Sorry bout the luck it is one thing to car shop when you want to and another when you're forced to it feels like your rushed. As for the n54 it is ridiculous the potential of that engine I've been eyeing up a 3 series. And since the n55 is coming around this year that might lower the prices a little on the 54. Hopefully insurance gives you a good amount on the car if its totaled

Thx everyone, I was going to order the 3.6 internals at the end of the month too. I'm certain I'll be quite pleased with my next purchase.

Hopefully its totalled as I don't want a car that has been damaged. I'll try and take pics of it later, but the trunk is pinched shut and you could easily sit 3 fat asses on the bench that has been made by my trunk being pushed in. The rear Quarter panels buckled in a bit on each side, both rear taillights exploded into pieces and the rear windshield has a little crack. That alone should be 5k+ worth of damage nevermind the damage that will be uncovered when they start prying apart the carnage.

Ouch. How hard were you hit? I assume the broken rib is from the seat belt?

Values have come down since though, so that 6500 may very well be enough to get it totaled.

Not trying to interject with my own personal experiences but when I got hit, the starting point for a personal injury settlement is usually 3-5 times your medical bills.

So if you go to the ER and doctor visits and rehab for a strained neck or broken rib, that all contributes to the final settlement for the injury they caused to you.

All parts around 2.5 to 3k and maybe a grand to 2 for labor. I'd say 4-5k installed and thats with an upgraded valvetrain.

Damn... Sorry to hear about your car. I was just admiring your new brakes and wheels over in the photo section. Well I hope everything works out for you.
My vote is for 335i, they are really fun to drive!

I'll be buying the car back most likely if it is totalled, I know I could recooperate enough money to make it worth it selling the tranny/engine alone.

No way I'm buying the Hyundia... I heard the ECU doesn't hold boost well on that car.

I'm headed to the attorney tomorrow then I think the car is being towed to an autobody shop for the adjuster to take a look at it. I'll keep everyone posted.
