another 13.2 run

went to the track last night. here is the run down.

r/t - .260
60' - 2.103
1/8 - 8.626 @ 82.55
1/4 - 13.280 @ 104.76

- ran with stock tires that had about 60,000 miles of wear and tear
- ran using d4, and i've come to realized that the reason for my low trap speed is because the car is shifting right before i finish the line and also because it's shifting before it reach redline.
- temp was in the 70's

next time around i will get new tires and start working on using SS or gate shift. hopefully that will get me in the 12's

Time to get a set of slicks. You'll definitely be into the mid 12's if you could manage to bring your 60' to about 1.8.

Good job on the run, do you have an scans of the slip?

^ran acouple of 13.7 and 13.6 (tire pressure @ 22psi) with 60' in the 2.2 range, but on the last run i decided to lower the pressure to 17psi and the car hooked better. dropping 1 tenth on the 60' make so much of a different.

Nice runs

Shifts closer to just below the limiter would definitely help. Hope you break into the 12's in the near future

Not bad, but I'd expect a higher trap just like you said.

D4 is also hurting you on the 2-3 shift. You're probably losing 5-600 rpms by letting the car shift on it's own.

Damn a 13.2 on a 60' that was .16 slower than my 2.00. However... I still think I have the highest trap speed for an automatic at 108

you do have the highest trap speed. i think if you or mattg drove my car it will break into 12's. i just have a damn hard time launching. too much throttle the tires are on fire.

by the way, how do you shift?

I was using SS mode when I ran 108's. I think I would have hit a 13.1 or maybe a 13.0 if I hadn't smacked the fuel cut once at 2 -> 3 shift.

I never gate shifted with the supercharger. Only SS or D4

DAMN!!! you lowerd the tires down to 17 psi? Isn't the stock pressure like 32 psi or something? I know you need it for traction with all that power, but being only half full seems just insane.

The tire pressure hurt your trap speed.

i'm going to use SS next time, and your right about smacking the fuel cut. it just comes up so quickly now with the SC. i'm going to try using my g-tech since it has a shift light and see what's the best rpm to shift at.

You can use the VTEC engagement on the e-Manage to wire up a shift buzzer to tell you when you shift. I'd set it right at 7,000 rpm.

this was against a modded evo. he said he missed 4th, but you can tell that by the 1/8 mark i had almost already regain the lead so it's wasn't a problem.

lookin good, but definitely get some new tires. I can't believe you are runnig tires with 60,000 miles on them. I changed out of my stockers as soon as I got my car with 46k miles on it, and only have about 10k on these ones. When I went to the track I am pretty sure my tires were low on air, so I didn't trap as high. I only trapped at 83.3 mph where I would have trapped at about 85 mph or so if properly inflated. Granted i do't have as much power as you so I don't have to really worry about traction issues.

He may have gotten to the 1/8th first, but he was about 4mph slower...BigGuy would have caught up and passed him easily in the next 1/8.

From a roll, the AWD in the Evo would've also eaten more power than our FWD cars... imagine that... an _up_ side to having FWD

As to OP - great job, dude. I have a PDG too, didn't know it was capable of times like these! Break into the 12s so I can falsely brag about how fast my car can be, please. DRs will do it, but the new tires will also get you close.

Nice run! I'm guessing that you have the the HBP. Very nice though. That's the same time that friend with an '04 STi ran. And he has about 385whp. Good job.

that would be a good combo. 400whp should be within reach with his upgrade internal.

Considering it is the FASTEST S/C'er ET ever posted... it's still pretty exciting.

You guys missed the part where I mentioned upcoming 3.5L swap
My custom block has gone (sold for a good price) and currently getting installed 3.5 with high CR '05 RL pistons. I need more torque at low rpm with stop-n-go traffic, hence the decision. BTW, if you want details/pics I can open up a new thread Turbo might be in the future if I resolve the issues with AV6 ECU (very restrictive) to see higher gains. So far, however I'll keep the blower.
