Annhiliated a 6 speed CL-S
Obviously this guy couldn't drive for the life of him, because I took him by at least 4-5 car lengths to 70mph. :o I even gave him the jump one time and I walked past him by the end of 2nd gear like he wasn't even trying. He claimed that it ran 14.3 at the track, but if it ran 14.3's my Mustang is a mid 13 second car :sqnteek: Then, he wanted to go from a 10mph roll because he was getting so much axle hop. I left it in 1st, and by the time I hit the middle of 2nd he was in my rearview.
Here's to drag radials and a solid axle rwd
And thumbs down to people who can't drive. :o

jtkz... me and u should go from a stop and then like a 20 roll...
i think u will kill me off the line, rwd+dr's+v8 vs fwd, shittiest tires in the world, and no trq down low
but from the 20 roll it would be interesting

Well Darrin mine will still spin quite a bit if it's cool out and the tires aren't warm. I'll race from any speed, and I am not ashamed to lose, because it's just for fun. If your CL is anything like mine I should take you off the line, but once at highway speeds it should go to you.
I doubt he was a member because he was about 35 years old and very uptight looking. Most people here seem to be younger and alot more laid back.

i see, well my cl-s aint like urs, the tranny is diff, if u can launch the 6 spd on some nice tires it will be quick off the line, but its very hard to launch a high powered fwd car like the cl-s6, but i cant get the revs up quick enuff off the line, that y i am gonna order the crank pulley to move the revs quicker, but i dunno what imma do at the track about traction, from the last time i went i put like 6k on my tires, 6k very hard miles, my tires are gone now, i dont wanna drop 600 on toyos right now cause i'm savin for other shit and i dont wanna ask my pops for the $$ for tires cause my car is only a year old and my salesman told my dad the tires will last for 50k, my ass

Well, I really can't see even with some awesome tires the 6 speed being awesome off the line. I know with mine anything over 2k from the line and without serious clutch modulation it was wheelhop city. Maybe with some stiffer springs/shocks it wont be as bad, but without some filled motor mounts I doubt it's able to launch cleanly at any higher rpms. The difference is that you aren't shocking the tires on the launch like a 6 speed is. I'll bet your TC isn't locking up till about 2k, so it doesn't feed all that power at once.
And I have no idea how anyone could cope with the MXM4's for 50k miles. I can't even take corners at 1/4 throttle without tire squeal. This is soooo annoying. Some people think it's cool to hear tire squeal all the time, but to me it's just embaressing.

14.2@98mph is respectable considering the 97's were way underpowered....a stock 6speed will probably run 96mph, so it shouldve been a little closer, but oh well, he should learn how to drive a little better before he challenges someone...better watch out for those who know how to drive theirs though, it just may surprise you how quick these cars can be....

How am I gonna be surprised? I own the same car that he did. And mines a 94, which is a much better platform than a 97 GT. And mph means nothing.

my bad about the 97 mistake, you're right, the 94's still had the 5.0's in them right? Just curious about the 94.5mph in your stock 6mt...that seems to be about 2mph slower than normal, oh well....good run
