am I crazy?

Let me see what you guys think. Am I crazy for thinking of selling my 02 CLS with 45,000k miles on it so that I can grab a 95 Legend Coupe with type II engine that has 73,000k miles on it?

Could I even get a sizable value for it? My 02 has a navi system, full warranty until Dec. 2008 and lojack installed. I used to have a 92 legend and honestly, I miss it. I want that old legend feeling back. Damn that was a good car..

they're slower and they don't handle nearly as well as a cl-s. but hey, the legend is a nice car.

I don't think you should do it. I don't care how good a car was build, if it is 10 years old it is 10 years old. Things break when they are 10 years old. I can tell you Legends have ABS, Head gasket, Brake Master Cylinder, Radiator, rear glass regulators, auto tilt on power steering, and etc problems. Unless it is dirt cheap for a spare car, I won't touch it.

If it's a 6 speed in a good color I would give it some thought.
I've actually considered the same thing recently...but ONLY for a 6 speed Legend. I traded my automatic 95 Legend coupe for my first CLS 6 speed cause I really wanted a shifter. I never really was happy with the automatic, but I loved the Legend itself. I never could find a low mileage 6 speed G2 Legend Coupe to replace my 88 Legend Coupe 5 speed I had before it.

I also got comments everywhere I took the 95 coupe, with many offers to buy it. I rarely get any comments on the CLS. The Legend was distinctive. Still love the Legends, long after the CLS fades away.

Actually, I think I would too. The Legend has amazing lines, and still looks stunning to this day. I stare at a Legend coupe every time I see one. And the resale value!!! It's awsome! My friend sold his 95 Legend 6spd for 10k last summer with 99,000 miles on it. I actually think it's more attractive than the CL.

There's no such thing as a GS Coupe. Coupes came in base, L and LS trim. The sedans had a GS. maybe you had a 4 door.

Resale is good, even on my 8 year old 95 Legend coupe, the dealer gave me almost $10k for it and sold it the next day for, I think, $12,999. it had 75k miles.

I hear all of you, the Legend is just one amazing car. My friends dont get it, they always say, man.. the CLS is a vastly superior car to your old 92 Legend. I guess they just don't see the badass-ness of the legend cause they never owned on.

The one I've seen it a local sale, 10,500 for a 95 Legend coupe, auto, green, with 73,000 miles on it. Yes I know that's a slightly above what I would like to pay, but i bet I could talk the guy down.

The legend does have it's fair share of problems, that I'm familiar with, I had some issues with my 92 but my folks owned it before me and fucked up the engine by putting in shitty grade oil filters.

Anyway you cut it, the question is.. can I sell my CLS? I think that's real tough without taking a total bath on it. I'd like to get 18k for it but I think I'm dreamin on that. The only thing that would be appealing is the extended warranty and lojack installed. Any thoughts on that?

Same here….I always got comments on my Gen II Legend Coupe.
It was mostly stock outside, all I had modified was window tint and rims.
Even when it was eight years old and had 110,000 miles on it, most people thought it was only 2-3 years old.
The CL-S styling started to look “old” after only about 2-years.

You're right, so many people would ask, Is it new? and mine was a 95, and I owned it from 99-03.

I like my 6 speed CLS but it just doesn't have the same distinction and feel. If I could have found a 6 speed Legend I wanted, I probably wouldn't have bought the CLS.

best acura ever produced. still step down in performance, two steps up in luxury and build quality. 10yr old technology step or two down there. hmm.... choices, good food for thought

i doubt i can get enough for my car, what do you all think is a fair asking price for a 2002 auto cls with 45,000 miles, extended warranty until dec. 2008, and lojack installed?

if i can't sell the cls, then i can never get the legend.

In Atlanta, I found an Anthracite 03 CL-S with 30k miles on it (auto, no nav) for 16,995. I also found a six-speed for 18,995. God the resale on the CL...well wait, that's an oxymoron. Resale means that someone actually WANTS to purchase the car. It's more like a nosale on this thing. Dealers are just trying to GIVE these things away at this point.
