If we are not able to get 'Type-S' in RED on it, what are other possibilities. I can think of one...Vinyl Stickering, but one, that makes it look "cheap" and two, will rub off eventually...
Any other ideas...where could we get it engraved in red??

Im in, the general feeling is to have it say Type S. Soopa why dont you arrange to either change the order or set it up to read Type S instead of Acura?, or is it too much of a pain.

I think its pretty much unanamious(spelling) that it read Type-S...but again, if its too much work, then just get it to say ACURA or blank and we can all figure out ways to get it the way we want.

Gator: I sent you a Private Message... (read here )
I want to know if you could spend an hour there on Saturday maybe? Once I get a schedule for someone in the area I will call and see when they can fit you in.
Scalbert: Would you be a test mule?
Everyone else... in the initial order I will try to get both "A C U R A" and "T Y P E S" engravings. The TYPE-S wont be red but it will be in the Acura font. No dash.
First Gen owners... once we get the 2nd Gen stuff out the door we will get something going for you guys.
These parts will not be stocked... they will be dropshipped directly to you from the manufacturer.

For those wanting the text to be in "red" I have an idea...
This will be something youll have to do to your sills once you get them. So I'll keep it to myself until then... but it should be easy to do and it should work... and look clean. Wont be vinyl or "paint" or anything.

Burn some dust here
Im an hour from ATL and could do it if the time permitted. Wouldnt mind giving the car up for 2 hours and also could care less what it says, as long as the ugly plastic ones go

soopa and others:
I'm sure that two different engravings can be done...one for CL-P and one for CL-S. May I suggest a Type S, and one of Acura/Acura TL. The red lettering cannot be done as they're just an aluminum company, however it can be done by you with red enamel paint and a stencil pretty easily. I should have a pretty big update soon...hopefully today (Tuesday) for you guys...I just have to call them and discuss all this. I'm glad we have 50 people so far, we can definitely get a low price and can get a couple different types of sills if that's preferred. I just need whoever is volunteering to contact me so I can discuss with them where the shop is and getting in touch with Jeff (my company rep).

Yes. Gator is available Saturday... so we just need to get the other end setup.
As for discount. Like I said... "MAXIMUM of $60" It will be cheaper. Just not gonna know what until after we get a prototype made...

Interested too..
"Type-S" would be better, but unless it is case sensitive and has the dash like i just typed it, its gonna look fugly in the ACURA font:
T Y P E S
and the whole painting thing seems a lil too risky for my hand too!
so if thats the only other option set, ill go for "ACURA"

count me in! ..
couple questions: this is for 2 pieces, one for the driver side door and one for the passenger side door, right?
whats the installation going to involve? (glue? ? considering the amount of water that gets there .. it'd have to be something stickier than what the trim pieces are stuck on the dash with)
but yeah count me in for one that says ACURA
I dont want one that says CL-P cuz i dont want to remind myself that I missed out on getting the CL-S. but at the same time I dont want to fake it either by getting one that says Type S

yup, 2 pieces for 2 doors.
installation procedure is up for debate right now.
there are two methods available to us, stick on and screw on...
both are widely used in the aftermarket sill arena...
we are going to decide which method will be used when the prototypes are made...

the screw sounds like the best option to me as well .. (no pun indended ) but to play devils advocate for a minute
Say we went with the Screw On installation option .. A year goes by (the manufacturer of this sill has gone out of business ) and the finish of the sill you have on your car is fading, so you decide to take the sill off ... you'd have atleast 2 or more gaping holes on both doors

maybe im alone in it, but id prefer the adhesive for the
1.) gaping hole reason
and
2.) movement and wear/tear (rust/discoloring etc) inherent to screws
screws were in my moms old Oldsmobile and Chevy..
new ones are adhered - can anybody find pics of
the Lexus SC430's?..
best in the biz - back-lit with the lettering "SC430"!!
