does alternator give you HP?????

 

It provides curent for your battery and electrical system. I think it drains hp between the flywheel and the tires. But you have to be careful with underdrive pulleys because they may not be able to power the alternator if you have an aftermarket sound system going. at least that's what I've heard.

 

Yes, it produces current that recharges the battery and runs all electrical systems. It takes horsepower to to turn it, but not much.
