for all you nay-says, 6speed manual accord for 2003!!!!!!

Which means, we are NEXT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.vtec.net/news/items/906.html
Recently, Honda has kept the concept of the predecessor when renewing a model. Such measure had been introduced for models such as Odyssey, Civic Ferio, Step Wagon and CR-V.

This approach will be adopted for the new Accord also and it will follow the concept of the present Accord, which was introduced in September 1997.

Headlights of the new Accord will be thinner and it will give sharp image to the model. The low-beam light on the outside will act as projector light and there will be a small light between the low-beam and the high-beam light on the inside.

Front grill is pentagonal shape which is the trend of recent Honda cars.

Rear combination lights are wide and narrow with a built-in round light.

There will be four grades and three types of engine for the model. " Euro 2000" is the basic grade which is equipped with 2.0 liter i-VTEC engine capable of 155ps. There will be 4WD version for the grade

"Euro 200S" is the sports grade equipped with K20A unit, which is also equipped on the Integra Type R, and is capable of 220ps.
It will have 6-speed manual transmission and its suspensions will be specially tuned for high-speed driving. Its tire size will be 215/45R17.

"Euro 240", the upper grade, will be equipped with a newly developed 2.4 liter engine. The engine will be matched with 5-speed automatic transmission and 17-inch wheel will be fitted.

"Euro 240L" is the top grade model and it will be standard equipped with VGS (Variable Gear ratio Steering).

Two top grades will be fitted with curtain shield airbags for the first time for the Honda models.

Now that we've "confirmed" the 6 speed. What about this feature, why isn't it offered on the "higher" grade's gosh darn it.

The 6-speed will probaby go FROM the CL to tha Accord as I think they know that the CL-S dudes like us want it first in the US in Spring 2002 ... then Fall 2002 for Accord 2003 maybe it will be there...

Just my prediction

I may be wrong but the 6 speed they are talking about will be put on a 4 cylinder engine, "Integra Type-R", and would likely come from the s2000. There is no mention of a 6 speed for a V-6 engine.

Therefore it does not mean that there will be a 6 speed CL-S because there will be a special 6 speed Japanese spec Accord.

***Although I know they will release a 6 speed CL-S eventually"***

does sound very likely considering the honda line-up is without an affordable sporty prelude anymore.
