I like both Snook and Shawn's ideas--especially for those those naysayers way back when that slammed Doug and the product before having any real information about it.

I bet the next thing he makes and posts won't be treated so harshly.

Agreed. But don't take my original guess of "cam gears" as a slam (this was waaaaay early in the game.)

And Tim, I like the idea as well. I did order my latest (Comptech sways) from PassenMotorSports, only to give a bit of support for the local brick-n-mortor guys. But at least I made'm price match your site!! I'll be ordering more goods from you prob today (got the itch for springs too .)

And yes, I've ordered other items from Snook, just so everyone knows.

And while we're on the subject, I've been a member of HA.net for years (clear back to my Vic Si days.) I used to be jmackenzie, but that got lost over time and had to re-register as mackdaddy.

OK - springs ordered. I sissied out and did H&R OE's (gotta deal with the snow, and crappy Ohio roads!) Can't wait for everything to come together.... soon!

Agreed!

JRock, Chris's claims were always on the money. But his business and service skills we're worthless. Not to mention, he turned out to be a piece of crap in other ways.

Syncivic has shown no such tendancies. He certainly seems to have his business in order. Flood him with orders, he could be what Chris should have been.

Wait! WAIT!

Did I read the mystery mod post from syncivic right? I know many of you have read it. Did he say the if we install the mystery mod we will have to get a new hood? Or was he talking about damaging the hood when he was experimenting with the RES installation? I am very interested in getting the RES but I don't know if want to spend the money to get a new hood...
If I read this wrong please correct me....

acctually your post count is quiet low ...you see ...post whores post count must first be devided by pie then cut in half the you count 5% of that as contributing posts...and for you even that is generous

No. In order for the mod to clear your hood, it had to be reshaped on the top. This reduced the power a bit, so they had to find a compromise between gained power and hood clearance.

Why does RES give more HP gains to the CL-P?

I remember reading about a month ago that the MM/RES puts out greater horsepower gains for the CL-P than it does on the CL-S... Why is this?

Also, if anyone has it, can anyone post dyno results for both the CL-P and CL-S? (if available)

THanks.

For fast_daddy and Akim, here is the graph of stock TLS, TLS+MM, TLS + MM + CAI (the bottom line is stock, the middle line is stock+MM ONLY):

Wow !! Look at the low to mid end increases compared to the intake, for about the same $. I hope these dyno #s hold up in the real world.

Snook, i like your idea. And since i just bought my Comptech exhaust from you, that would get me one of the coveted pre orders. By the way, when do you expect to test and give your seal of approval ?

No, there's only one RES and it fits under the hood. The thing is that some of the prototypes didn't fit under the hood so some compromise had to be made between fit and performance.

When will the dyno's for the J30A RES be available? Any estimated timeline?

I think it is awesome that what Doug has managed to do with a simple $300 piece of metal.

BTW, is the RES made via a casting process or via machining?

I can't wait to plop my money down on this part!!!

BTW, people like JRock... just ignore them... If they don't have 2 brain cells required to understand by now that the RES mod is not some dyno anomoly, then you shouldn't waste your time trying to educate them because its obvious it won't help any.

I think that permanent backorder list would be a good idea.

Good question, but I think that the dynos are of the production models, I hope so at least. I guess you're going to have to contact Doug about getting your hands on one of the prototypes.

IMO -- I think it is time to (start a new topic) and ask that question of syncivic (Doug). I don't know *and* who else here can say that he (syncivic) "tested"/dyno'd a prototype that wouldn't fit under the hood without banging or denting it?

I thought he said he was driving around with it

(got to be quicker here...)

Yes, but it appeared that the cover would go back on as it only covered the lip of the lid.

So you just have to take the plastic off to install the RES...right...then it all goes on back to normal...right?

I can't say for sure until we get a definite response or have one in hand. But it appears that all you will do is remove the plastic engine shroud, replace the plenum cover plate with the RES and reinstall the engine shroud. About twelve 10mm or 12mm (can't remember which) bolts. It can't take more than a few minutes, well except for a few people on this forum...
