Air Conditioner Filter

We had this discussion going in the FAQ section, but there isn't too much traffic over there.

Does it make a significant difference b/w Bosch, Purolator, or charcaol filters? I'd like to spend as little as possible, but if someone has a convincing reason why it's better to go with say, $45 charcoal ones vs. $12 Bosch ones, then I'm all ears.

Where are you guys getting the bosch from ??

I was using the Purolator C15390, but if I can save a couple of buck next time, I'm all for it

NightHawkblue did some reseach on the charcoal filters, but I don't know what he ended up buying:

I would just go with the Purolator or Bosch. I haven't heard that much about the charcoal filters.

I think I'm going with OEM since no won has said whether the other types are really worth it

How much are the OEM ones. I can't see them being much cheaper than the Purolator ones. Those are what I have in mine and I think they were about $20.

I got whatever the parts store had, I think they were Purolator or Wix. Paid about $25 for a pair.

Well really for something like that you should DIY. It's so easy. Hell I would have did it for free for your. $25 isn't too bad. The Purolator's are around $20 for 2.

I was going to do it myself, but he said he wouldn't charge labor on it since it was something simple. How do those purolator's compare to these Napa gold's?

Don't know. Filters are filters as far as I'm concerned. You change them evey 30K miles anyway. But hey can't beat free labor.
