Any deck will not work with the 4 main Bose speakers or AMP. You will have to upgrade everything except the tweets. A 25000 hertz breaker connection will cutoff any bass that could run to the tweets.

The most fun is, wiring the rear 6x9s. The entire interier(sp?) needs to come out to do it.

Good luck

Yes, it is a PITB to put in a new deck because the front panel and everything attached to needs to come off in order to hook up the deck.

EDIT: I need to read the top thread discussion before I talk.

I did a lot of research on this before I installed mine because I didnt want to have my car torn apart and have it not work, and have to figure it out with it torn apart... I bought a Metra wiring harness and dash kit (Both came together on ebay for 25 bucks shipped). Wired up the harness and installed my Indash DVD player. It worked. I had heard from some people that it wouldn't, and some that it would. I went to Rollin' Sound and asked their install guy and he said as long as I didn't change out the speakers, an aftermarket deck would work with the amp. He was right. Now he said if I were to leave it hooked up through the Bose amp, but tried to change to different speakers it wouldn't work, so I am still using the Bose speakers, and it sounds way better than it did with the Bose deck. DVDs sound really good on it. IT WILL WORK. Search on ebay for Metra wiring harness and you should be able to find one.

Good luck!

not sure what some people are sayiing, but i can remove the oem radio is liek 15 mins, and you just need the wiring harness and metra kit and it will work with your stock amp and speakers.

The Bose AMP is powering out 1 OHM to all the speakers, most head units can take between 4 - 8 OHMS. Eventually the deck will blow. It's better safe than sorry. 1 OHM is too much for any aftermarket deck.

WOW! really I have never heard this before. I've had mine in for I guess a year now no problems yet If it blows oh well its inexpensive and I'd like a newer one that has that usb ipod connection.

that doesnt make any sense since the HU is sending signal to the amp then the amp to the speakers, it doesnt make sense that the amp would kill the HU. i put in a in dash dvd in my cl and ran with the bose amp and speakers for a good while, now im up to infinity speakers all around still powered by the bose amp and still no problems.

I'm not denying the fact that the deck sends the signal to the amp and the amp out to the speakers. But any power left over gets sent back to the deck, and if it's too much it can blow the deck.

----->>>Clarifying!

Bose speakers are usually 1 or 2 ohm(sorry). A 1 or 2 ohm load to aftermarket stereos looks like a shorted speaker. This will cause the stereo to rapidly heat up and may damage the output stages.

Please don't take this as a SA post.
