All I did was install a K & N filter and I noticed a humming noise while in my garage.

you should hear the humming noise from my Weapon-R Short ram intake. It's REALLY loud. I think the humming noise is normal, although from an AEM intake, it should be less than a short ram

Yea, I hear the humming noise too sometimes. I believe this only occurs when your A/C is on. Turn it off, and you should hear no humming. I can only really hear it if my car is on in PARK, and I'm near the hood.

What kind of humming noise? I never had any noise at idle. You get a swish noise when you shut off the engine. On a cold morning, you can hear the air sucking noise at idle, but it disappears when warmed up.

just a humm....I hear it at idle where warmed up or at startup....not sure...it might just be the deeper sound of the air coming in...maybe.....

I've found that my engine temp gauage does go slightly below half way before midpoint quicker than before the CAI.

Is that the same with everyone else?

Hummage

Its because of the throttle body (Sucking Air)...they all do it...you just could not hear it with the stock air box and resenator. I have a K & N drop in...it made the noise too till i discovered the airbox was not closing all the way. Trimmed up the rubber section of the Drop In then Insured that the Airbox was FULLY CLOSED and BAM!!! No more Hummage!!!

Hope this helps.

It's resonance.... the *swhooosh* sound is the sucking air sound.

It is prevalent on the short rams...hence, my UFO sound..
But yeah...all the intakes do it on the Honda J-series.

Make sure that the install was done correctly. My CAI makes a louder sound that stock, but I consider this to be normal.

I just removed the resonator from the stock air box and noticed the same thing. I could hear the hum from inside the car with the windows up. I was looking at just getting a dropin filter but I do not want the hum. I returned the resonator and everything is fine.

I will have to remove the resonator again and find out what is causing the hum. I know for sure I did not have the AC on. I did leave the rubber boot in the filterbox which could of helped with the noise. I even disconnected the battery to reset everything hoping that would help.

Need to decide soon as my Gnew exhaust and sways will be in next week.

reset your ecu by unconnecting your battery, waiting an hour and reconnecting it, then drive around as you normally would. have your navi and radio codes ready.
