It's been covered in detail, with sound clips.

AEM = loud
CT = quiet

CT has better HP gains & looks stock.
Install is the same for both

Why is it that no one ever mentions the Injen?

From what I've seen here the Injen is better quality too. Many AEM intakes have snaped in half.

I know. That's why I didn't buy an AEM. I didn't really read about any bad Injens when doing my research.

I would go with the Comptech. Reasons why?

1) Comptech looks "cleaner" in the engine bay. It takes up the space entirely. It doesn't stand out like the blue, red, or silver AEM CAIs.
2) the IceBox has virtually no chance of hydrolock, whereas you have to put that flap thing on the AEM making it look "ugly"
3) If you get pulled over and you have to pop your engine, the IceBox won't stand out to cops.

Comptech is the way to go. Unless you want the sound there is no reason not to go Comptech.

i've gone comptech on almost every product i could, you won't regret it. you pay for quality. maybe this is stupid, but maybe the plastic CT uses is lighter than the aluminum in AEM. lol.

oh yea, i love the fact that i can have a cone filter that's totally enclosed.

I Have The Injen. It Is Great And The Hp Difference Is So Small It Is Not Even Worth Discussing. And It Is Not Illegal To Have A Cold Air Intake. Maybe In Cali.

It is not illegal to have a CAI in Cali. It is however illegal to have a non DOT approved add-ons (i.e. most Pepboys bought CAIs and/or shortrams).

If you do your research, you will fall to these conclusions, just like I have myself.

i believe most if not all AEM failures are the result of bad and or failing motor mounts

, although a slightly different situation, when I had my 04 TL with just a K&N and modified induction (long story, but worked well), my average miles on the tank increased by 40-60 miles. Better breathing of course makes the engine more efficient, conserving fuel in the process.

You should and you should get the icebox. The Icebox, last I heard and saw, performed slightly better than the AEM, especially the AEM with bypass valve (since the valve lets air out).

The bypass valve is not necessary unless you plan on submerging your car. I bought my CAi used so I'm not complaining too much but prefer the quietness of the Comptech over the loudness of the AEM.

Don't know because I've never owned one but I've read about it here. I think "mattg" had it happen.

Comptech, the main reason I found out later is for maintenance issues. I currently have the AEM and pondering if I should switch. It's a pain in the ass to pull out the AEM filter.
