AEM Problems.

i just installed my aem intake today. that thing almost did not fit. i had to do all sorts of shaving had to cut the support bracket and then the inner fenderwell almost would not fit back on. it was like the intake was made for another car. has anyone else had problems like this? i will probably never buy anything from them again.

On my '03 TL-S, I had to cut off the bottom end of the pipe to fit the filter on, and remove an inner fender bracket to pass the pipe through.

AEM guy on the phone was a dick, too.

ys, i did the same things too. i dont know why but i guess i was sent the wrong parts. all i did was cut cut till it fit . i decided to cut it into two pper half 4 the throttle body and rduced the other half till it fit joining them both at the curve with a brace and a 3.5 rubber pvc pipe meant for turbo/boost. it worked fine inthe end no problems.

mine was definatly 3 inch. and there was no way it would have gone on backwards. i think it is retrofitted from the accord.

you either got the wrong part or you just suck. Did you still have the filter on when you were trying to install it? no modification, no shaving and didn't have to take off the fenderwell. Don't jump the gun, AEM has good products.

how can you install it wrong? i got it from option auto. the part numbers were the same as other sites. the bracket was welded about 2 inches too far down. and the pipe was way too long.

I'm sorry you're going through this!

Kinda makes me feel better about getting the Icebox instead of the AEM !
